Marbella sickness, Easter celebrations, and more rain!

Welcome to episode 58 of Marbella with Him & Her, the weekly Marbella lifestyle podcast presented by PJ Lopez and Hannah Murray (@radiohannah and @pjlopez1marbella) If you haven't already, please hit 'Follow' wherever you listen to your podcasts, as it helps us with ratings! :)  Many of our plans for this week were cancelled at the last minute due to various illnesses that are going around the community, but as always, we made the best of these changes and made different plans. PJ is still recovering from his cold, which has left him with a bit of a cough (for which we apologise as it does feature a few times in this week's episode). Hannah mentions her dear mum who passed away three years ago this week. We still cannot believe three years have already flown by since it happened. Hannah got together with her Dad for brunch at @dailysbrunch on the anniversary on Thursday. The Hogan Stand quiz this week was the busiest ever, with 18 teams taking part. It was a great atmosphere and as always an enjoyable quiz. Hannah's Men's Talk on TRE (@talk_radio_europe) featured an Englishman, a Irishman and a Scotsman, the start of so many jokes! She also interviewed The Backpacking Housewife and learned that her husband passed away very recently. During the interview they spoke about the many magnificent journeys they had made and the everlasting memories she will now have. Hannah also mentions the fact that Mary Harboe (@mary_harboe) has returned to TRE and her studio interview with the Apprentice star Claude Littner. Hannah was due to go to lunch with Charlotte on Friday but this was one of the cancellations, so PJ joined her instead and they headed out to San Pedro town centre where they stopped for tapas at a lovely bar called Baratie (@baratie.bar.cafe). Listen to find out the incredible price they paid for all the food they enjoyed. At the weekend Hannah joined a group of girls at the Hard Rock Hotel in Marbella (@hrhmarbella) for breakfast and a spa circuit for Sue's birthday celebration week. Afterward Hannah was off to rehearsal for a poetry evening that her dad Bernie is directing at Thespa, a drama group in Fuengirola. Saturday evening they joined a huge group of people for dinner at the lovely restaurant Marabierta (@marabierta.restaurante) in San Pedro before heading to the Hogan Stand to enjoy live music by Jackie. The Sur in English articles this week include one about the amazing charity fund raising that Alan Boardman and his wife are doing and their upcoming trek along a section of the Camino de Santiago. We also discuss the new smart toilets being installed along the Paseo Maritimo in Marbella.

Marbella Ladies Lunch at La Sala & Spring Flowers

Welcome to episode 57 of the Marbella lifestyle podcast Marbella with Him & Her presented by PJ Lopez and Hannah Murray. This week, apart from PJ feeling sorry for himself due to a cold he picked up, we have a chat about the recent social media trend of making yourself into an action doll figure complete with packaging via chatGPT. PJ's first attempt did not quite go to plan, while Hannah's was sensational! Hannah went to La Sala with her friend Nikki for the ladies bottomless brunch (that does not mean they were bottomless), it meant free flowing Cava or for small surcharge, Champagne. Find out which one they opted for in the podcast. (@lasalabanus) The International Theatre Studio 'Lark in the Park' event will be on Sunday 14th June, so this week were auditions for the production which will be a very funny tongue in cheek fashion show. We both got a role in the production, and will be playing the compares (@internationaltheatrestudio) It was a friends birthday at the weekend so a large group of us headed to the Bombay Grill in San Pedro and enjoyed a fun evening with some great food (@bombaygrill_sanpedro). Sadly later that night and all day Sunday PJ was struck down with a cold so he had to cancel going on a fun day out with friends. Hannah went though and came home with a car full of plants, having enjoyed a lunch at a South African restaurant called La Boma (@_theboma_). We also had a discussion about the Celebrity Big Brother decision to remove Mickey Rourke from the house for abusive language and behaviour. Sur in English articles this week included the Robbie Williams concert in Malaga Port from the TUI Mein Schiff Relax cruise liner. We also discuss the most expensive house for sale in Sierra Blanca in Marbella. Don't forget as always you can keep up to date with both Hannah and PJ through our Instagram accounts @radiohannah and @pjlopez1marbella

Welcome to episode 55 of Marbella with Him & Her, your weekly insight into life in Marbella with two expats Hannah Murray and PJ Lopez. This week we get excited about the sun! It has returned and the temperatures have gone up to t-shirt weather, but the rain is set to come back later in the week. With Semana Santa (easter) coming up in a few weeks, and the daily parades, we are expecting the rain as it always rain at Easter! We also talk about our first purchase using the Too Good To Go app, which was a 'surprise' box from Carrefour. Find out what we were surprised with! Hannah talks about the Big Fish podcast by Spencer Matthews (@bigfish.pod) in which he did an eye opening interview with Chris van Tulleken (@doctorchrisvt) about his book called Ultra Processed People about processed foods. She also mentions her gym classes during the week and a disappointing Pilates session, while PJ was pleased to be able to contribute to this section as he had been out for a run twice during the week. Hannah's interview coverage of her Let's Goa India trip continued with a piece in the Euro Weekly News thanks to an interview with Nicole King for her weekly column, Marbella Moments. PJ talks about his steak and chips home alone dinner at the weekend as Hannah was away with the girls for a night in Malaga where they did a roof top bar crawl and ate at Antonio Banderas' Italian restaurant Atrezzo Gastro located in the Soho area of Malaga (@atrezzogastro). This week's Sur in English articles included an interesting article about what people from Marbella are called (which they both have difficulty pronouncing). Curries in Marbella & India, and The Davis Cup

Welcome to episode 53 of Marbella with Him & Her, and yes, Hannah is back from her epic adventure in India. Once again HUGE thanks to Mandy Urena for doing such a great job filling in while Hannah was away and teaching us so much about expat life in Miami. Hannah gives us the low down on some of her key memories during her Rickshaw Rally with the Sisterhood from Chennai on the east coast of India to Goa on the west coast. From curry for breakfast to mastering the Indian roads, Hannah gives us some funny and heartwarming insights. While Hannah was away PJ went for dinner at Bombay Grill (@bombaygrill_sanpedro) in San Pedro and went out on a limb having a vindaloo (and survived)! He also went to dinner with friends Beverley and Jamie and did a trial run of the Irish St Patrick's Day quiz, which he then did for real at the Hogan Stand on Thursday (@thehoganstand). The team aptly named the Paddies only dropped one question the entire quiz and won for a fourth year in a row! We also bring you an update on the Ronda road situation and the fact that it is not due to open until at least August of this year. Articles from the Sur in English this week include the great news that Marbella will host the next round of the Davis cup between Spain and Denmark at the Puente Romano Hotel Tennis Club. There is also an article about the amount of different nationalities represented in Marbella with people from Vanuatu to Benin living in this wonderful place. The village of Casares was voted the most beautiful town in Andalucia and PJ reminisces about the time he saw his favourite Spanish group Chambao (@chambao_official) at their feria. We also discuss the article that mentions the plan to eventually stop the horse drawn carriages in Marbella, and a new animal welfare set of rules to ensure the wellbeing of the horses until that eventually happens. Don't forget if you want to keep updated with Hannah and PJ's adventures you can follow Hannah at @radiohannah and PJ an @pjlopez1marbella (also for updates on Miami don't forget Mandy at @mandyisallaboutmassage)

International Podcast with PJ in Marbella, Mandy in Miami and Hannah in India

Episode 52, yes 52, our 1 year podcast anniversery! We are loving putting this together each week and we hope you are still enjoying listening to our expat life in Marbella (and this week Miami too), and general Marbella lifestyle news and events. As Hannah is still zooming across India in a tuktuk Mandy Urena joins us again from Miami with news of expat life there too. This week we chat about the amazing creatures she sees from her back garden in the canal, which include manatees, dolphins and hammerhead sharks. We also chat about the Spanish feria that Mandy went to in Miami and the Sevillana dancing that she is re-learning in time for the Rota feria in April, when she will come back to Spain for a few days. I also have to mention the awful weather we are having in Marbella right now and the floods, landslides and storms. I mention that the Ronda road between San Pedro and Ronda is closed and will be for a while due to a landslide that has covered the entire road. Of course we mention food and my curry envy of Hannah and the photos she has been posting of the various curries she has been eating. So much so that I headed out to a new Indian in San Pedro called Maurya (@mauryindiansanpedro) for a takeaway Madras curry. We also chat about popular food in Miami as well as my visit to Da Bruno is San Pedro for my favourite dish veal milanese (@dabrunosanpedro). AND the big news this week is that we caught up with Hannah in India. She gives us an overview of what it has been like driving in India and how they are getting on. You can follow Mandy at @mandyisallaboutmassage PJ at @pjlopez1marbella and Hannah at @radiohannah And the big

Marbella, Miami, Mandy, Massage Stories and Fish and Chips

Welcome to episode 51 of Marbella with Him and Her, except the her is not Hannah Murray this week, it is Mandy Urena in Miami filling in for Hannah during Hannah's epic expedition across India. It is a varied podcast this week as we introduce Mandy to you and talk about Miami versus Marbella, expensive cocktails, and memories of when we went to Miami before our Honeymoon cruise. We also talk about the frustrations of baggae allowances and how the standard cabin bag is different on each airline. This came about as Hannah will be flying with four different airlines on route and back from India. Mandy tells us about her amazing travels and in particular her memorable trip to the arctic where she went for a freezing cold dip. In fact you can catch up with her travels, including the arctic cruise on her YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@destinationeverywhereusa We also learn about Mandy's interesting job massaging royalty and VIP clients! It was Dia de Andalucia last week so we have a chat about that and Mandy's love of Spain, and how she fell in love with Rota in Cadiz. Before Hannah flew we had fish and chips from Harry's in Nueva Andalucia, deciding it was the safest pre-flight food. I asked Mandy if they have fish and chip shops in Miami. Listen to see what she had to say. @harrysfishandchips I also talk about my home alone shopping, curry at Bombay Grill and live music with Paul Hull at The Hogan Stand. @paulhullmusic @thehoganstand   Next week Hannah will be sending some India updates and we will be joined by Mandy from Miami again @pjlopez1marbellam@mandyisallaboutmassage And to keep updated with Hannah in India @radiohannah
