    Christmas in Marbella, Charlotte Church and Record Breaking Sushi

    Welcome to the last podcast before Christmas! It is episode 41 of Marbella with Him and Her, your podcast about Marbella and the Costa del Sol by PJ Lopez (@pjlopez1marbella) and Hannah Murray (@radiohannah). This week we talked about Hannah’s recent interview with Charlotte Church, plus her annual interview with Santa Claus himself, direct from Lapland. We also talk about some last-minute Christmas food shopping and PJ’s first trip to the new Aldi in San Pedro. We also shared some of our favourite memories of Christmasses when we were young, and our ongoing love of games! We also mention the final upcoming Christmas choir date for The Del Sol Singers at La Sala, a fabulous Christmas eve event at 3pm. This weeks Sur in English article is about a record-breaking sushi roll by Carlos Navarro aka the Sushi Man- He broke the world record with a 19 metre sushi roll which was cut into 800 pieces. Finally, there is a big shout out to Jan Humpidge who asked people to donate money to Age Concern for her birthday which resulted in a lovely donation at their recent charity lunch at The Hogan Stand.

    Christmas Parties in Marbella, new nails and Kylie Minogue

    We cannot actually believe we are on episode 40 of Marbella with Him & Her, your Marbella lifestyle podcast by PJ Lopez (@pjlopez1marbella) and Hannah Murray (@radiohannah). Each week we catch you up with what we have been up to as well as bringing you information on restuarants, events and things happening in and around Marbella on the Costa del Sol. This week it was a busy week of singing and Christmas parties, but before that, Hannah had her first StarTrading session to learn a bit about trading online. She was able to do Monday and Tuesday evening live but had to record the Wednesday session for later in the week as we had plans. First thing Wednesday the Del Sol Singers sang Christmas songs for a local group called CAP (Charity and Pleasure). Wednesday evening was the Good Morning Spain (@goodmorningspaintv) Christmas party at the Hard Rock Hotel in Marbella (@hrhmarbella), a great venue that went above and beyond to make sure everyone was looked after. On Thursday Hannah went to a new nail technician called Bella Nails (@bellanails.brona) where she had some amazing Christmas nail art done. After that Hannah then sang with the Del Sol Singers at the Age Concern lunch hosted at the Hogan Stand. While all that was going on PJ was in Gibraltar with his colleague and came back with a rather large bottle of Baileys for Christmas. Friday, Hannah was singing again at the Christmas market at the Victoria and Albert pub in Benavista with the Del Sol Singers, before getting ready to perform her one person Band Aid skit at the International Theatre Studio Christmas Party.  Meanwhile PJ was at the Manifesto Christmas party at La Sala (@lasalabanus)....probably best to leave that one there!! On Saturday we both went to the Talk Radio Europe (@talk_radio_europe) Christmas party at the Sea Grill (@seagrillrestaurant) located in the Puente Romano Resort in Marbella. Such a fantastic setting and amazing food. Sunday morning Hannah received a message from her colleague Giles Brown, saying that Kylie is performing in Seville in July. Being one of Hannah's absolute favourite singers, 10 minutes after receiving the message, tickets and hotel were booked! This week's Sur in English articles inlcuded the cheap train tickets from Malaga to Madrid and the upcoming Copa del Rey match between Marbella FC and Athletico Madrid.

    Christmas Choir Singing in Marbella, Burgers and Online Trading

    PJ and Hannah (@pjlopez1marbella and @radiohannah) bring you episode 39 of Marbella with Him & Her, your Marbella podcast about things going on the Costa del Sol. It has been a very busy week with lots of Christmassy things happening but firstly, Hannah started the week by meeting up with Charlotte of Cervinco Wines (@cervincowines), a regular on Hannah’s afternoon show on TRE. They met up at the Hogan Stand in San Pedro and of course enjoyed a bottle of wine and a good chat. Hannah also ordered some wine for Christmas, a bottle of New Zealand white from Marlborough (how do you say it?) and a Christmas blend wine. On Wednesday evening Hannah attended an online trading masterclass with someone she has interviewed about trading called Lewis Compton (@withlewiscompton) Founder of StarTrading Thursday, Hannah had a day off work as she had her first Christmas choir concert with the Del Sol Singers at La Sala (@lasalabanus) raising money for AIM Sanctuary (@aimsanctuary) with a Christmas market, and fashion show by Angel Clothing (@angeldelmarbs) Friday was a bank holiday in Spain and PJ has the DIY bug after the wall painting last week. This time he painted the ceiling in the downstairs toilet and went around the house with a paint brush painting over any marks. Friday evening it was another choir performance at the Harbour Restaurant in Marbella (@the_harbour_marbella) which always goes down very well with diners in probably the most Christmassy venue in Marbella. On Saturday morning PJ woke up with a nasty cold which wiped him out for the rest of the weekend so Hannah had to fly solo. In the evening, we used a Cooldeals (cooldeals.es) voucher for a fish and chip dinner from Harry’s Chip Shop in Nueva Andalucia (@harrysfishandchips_) Sunday Hannah had another choir performance and this time at the stunning village of La Virginia Christmas market in Marbella (@lavirginiamarbella) Sunday evening, Hannah went to Soho Market in Guadalmina (@sohomarketmarbella) in the evening with friends but this time it wasn’t to sing, it was just to eat and drink (and dance!) This weeks Sur in English articles include the forecasted drop in temperatures in Marbella (we can confirm it is true). We talk about the Best Burger competition and the fact that a Malaga chain Gottan Grill (@gottangrill) won the final in Madrid

    Marbella hits New York, Christmas Markets & Dutch Tapas

    Welcome to the latest episode of the Marbella podcast Marbella with Him & Her featuring the social lives of Hannah Murray @radiohannah and PJ Loprz (@pjlopez1marbella). Hannah started the week with spinning and zumba at the gym and a lovely facial for €10 at the Marbella Beauty Academy (@marbellabeautyacademy). It is where beauty students get to try out their skills on the public. Later in the week we met up with friends Amy and Ross to watch the Christmas lights in San Pedro with their children. Afterwards we went up to the church square to see the lights there too, and then ate some amazing Dutch 'tapas' at the Dutch restaurant El Vecino (elvecinobar_bistro). Before heading home we all went via La Tizona Cheese and Wine Bar for some red wine, cheese and jamon. (@latizonagourmet). Hannah hosted a second quiz this week at Urban Chai in San Pedro. The next one is Saturday 25th January. Being the start of December Hannah was excited to put up the Christmas decorations listening to Christmas songs and sipping on creme de menthe This weeks Sur in English articles mention the promotion of Marbella as a holiday destination in New York and featuring on the screens in Times Square. There is also news of one of our favourite Malaga restaurants Blossom getting a Michelin star, and Marbella football stadium plans. Christmas Events to look out for this week: Tuesday 3rd December is a charity coffee morning at Urban Chai in San Pedro. There is a Christmas by candlelight event in the Live Lounge at La Sala. Thursday 5th is the AIMS Christmas market and Angel Fashion show featuring the Del Sol Singers Choir at La Sala. Friday 6th is the Harbour Christmas lights switch on featuring the Del Sol Singers Choir. Sunday 7th is the La Virginia Christmas market also featuring the Del Sol Singers Choir.

    Marbella Christmas Markets and Concerts and San Pedro Christmas Lights

    Welcome to episode 37 of Marbella with Him & Her, a popular podcast about Marbella and the daily activities of hosts Hannah Murray (@radiohannah) and PJ Lopez (@pjlopez1marbella). In this packed episode we start with a special tea arranged for long standing quiz team member of Director's Cut, Mary who has now gone back to the UK. We devoured sandwiches, scones and doughnuts and of course debated the important question, jam and cream or cream and jam! Hannah also speaks about her annual interview with the editor in chief of the Guinness World Records, Craig Glenday (@craigglenday) and reminisces about her live world record attempts (@guinnessworldrecords) Saturday night was the Christmas Lights switch on in San Pedro de Alcantara where a group of us had a table at Sundays (@sunday_bar_sanpedro) so we could watch the mini concert and the grand switching on of the lights.     Malaga Weather Alert, Elliott Wright's Charity Event & Celebrity Hair

    Welcome to the latest episode of Marbella with Him & Her, your podcast about the busy social lives of Him (PJ Lopez) and Her (Hannah Murray) as they go out and about in Marbella and the Costa del Sol. This week starts with Hannah's caesar salad made at the table for friends Bev and Jamie who came over to watch our performance of Abigail's Party. Later that evening we headed to the Three Monkeys (@the3monkeysbarestepona) for an emotional send off to Dave the Chef who sadly passed away recently. Tuesday evening was a first for us as our mobile phones bleeped madly thanks to a weather red alert telling us that we could avoid travel on Wednesday as severe rain and storms could cause a risk to life. Schools and supermarkets were closed and public transport was suspended until 8am Thursday morning. Hannah recently interviewed Elliott Wright (@elliottwright_) as this week was his charity event at his restaurant Olivias (@olivias_la_cala) where he raised over €30k for flood victims of Valencia. On Friday Hannah had a hair appointment with the Marbella branch of celebrity hair dressers Salon Maher (@salonmaher), coming home very happy with the outcome. So much so that she lead us astray Friday evening going out to Nuevo Siglo for chinese and then to Hogan Stand (@thehoganstand) where we drank far too much limoncello!! On Saturday night we went to the Salon Varietes Theatre (@salonvarietestheatre) in Fuengirola to watch the fantastic Viva la Diva with (@melissaccarver) Toni Leigh (@teee_ell) & R Jay Music (@rjaymusiq) Sur in English articles this week include Rafa Nadal (@rafaelnadal) and whether he will be fit for the Davis Cup in Malaga, the UK team playing in the Billie Jean Cup, and the ongoing drought despite so much rain.     New Marbella Restaurants, Portugal and Dinner Parties

    After an unscheduled week off due to illness, Marbella with Him & Her is back and packed with lots of fun activities and adventures. This week we start with a fabulous dinner party with friends Guy and Teresa in Benalmadena. It is a real buzz to get together with new friends and share so many stories!  The day after, we set off for a wedding (a hash wedding) in Quarteira on the Algarve in Portugal. It was an amazing day and night of fun, laughter and meeting new people. Sadly it was cut short due to PJ falling ill. We headed back early and were frustrated by WAZE and its directions!!!! While PJ recovered, on Monday Hannah had rehearsals for a tribute play to June Rendle, who sadly passed away earlier this year and was a much loved member of ITS. Hannah also decided to try out an invitation for EMS training on Tuesday morning with her friend Amy. We also chat about a couple of amazing interviews Hannah did for TRE during the week. One with Esther Adan who is deaf and doing lots for charity work for deaf children. The other was with Tarek, the father of Strictly contestant Tasha who is also deaf and was on Love Island. Tasha's dad lives in Coin on the Costa del Sol and they chatted about the bullying Tasha went through and how she is now an important voice for the deaf community. We also managed to try the new Italian restaurant Babbu in San Pedro which is our most local restaurant, and was a great experience! (@babbutrattroria_es) Finally we chat about the horrific situation in Valencia after the storms and how the amazing communities around the country have rallied to help

    Marbella Climbing, Golf, Singing, & a Murder Mystery

    Welcome to episode 34 of Marbella with Him & Her, a weekly podcast bringing you information about Marbella and what we (Hannah & PJ) have been up to over the course of the week.  It started with Hannah getting back to the choir with the Del Sol Singers who are getting set for a bumper number of Christmas concerts this year. After choir Hannah met up wth her friend and her god daughter for an enjoyable bite to eat at Inch in San Pedro (@inchbar) Thursday, PJ went to play golf for the first time in a year and headed down to Alcaidesa Links course which is one of the most pituresque courses on the Costa del Sol. (@lahacienda_linksgolf) Friday Hannah went for her father / daughter brunch at Exotica on the paseo at San Pedro. (@exoticca.restaurant) PJ went to Amazonia in Elviria, East Marbella to the climbing adventure park with his work colleagues. (@aventuraamazonia) Later that evening Hannah went to La Grappa Italian restaurant to see Karen Danzig singing where not only did she join in with some songs but danced the night away. (@italianrestaurantlagrappa) Saturday was the long awaited Murder Mystery night that friends Debbie and Peter had maticulously planned. Everyone made a huge effort with some fantastic fancy dress outfits.
