Rogelio, Helen and Brianna are excited to share their own ideas. It can be difficult to wait and listen. What will they do?

Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Ideas Galore” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!

    Narrator: Female

    Final Dragon Breath: 8:19

    Ideas Galore Show Excerpt:

Helen, eager to share her ideas for their play, waited for her friends under the great oak tree at the park.  She looked up at the crisp blue sky through the branches, and noticed she could see a lot more blue.  The oak had changed quite a bit since their last get together.  Brown leaves drifted down as Helen looked up into the crown of the tree.

“Hi Helen!”  It was Rogelio and Brianna!  Now they could get started.

“Hi!” Helen replied.  All three were grinning ear to ear.  “I’m so glad you’re here!” Helen said.  “I have so many ideas that I want to…”

Before she had a chance to finish Rogelio excitedly said, “Me too! I’ve been thinking about the music for the play and the sets.  Wait till you see!”

“What ideas did you have Helen? I have some to share too!” Brianna added.

Helen started to speak again.  “Well I was thinking that maybe our story should have some other characters, not just the dragon.  My idea was that we could have…”

    554. The Greatest Treasure: a mindful story and meditation

    554. The Greatest Treasure: a mindful story and meditation

Odette Octopus and Serena Sea Lion learn that the greatest treasure of all is friendship.

    Narrator: Male

    Story Begins: 4:37

    The Greatest Treasure Excerpt:

Odette Octopus quickly scurried across the seafloor through the reef, excited to meet up with her friend Serena Sea Lion. Yesterday, Serena had told Odette about a place close to the reef that had a big treasure hidden in it. Serena wasn’t sure what the treasure was or where it was, exactly, so the two friends had decided to go on a treasure hunt together today to find the treasure.

Now, as Odette hurried to meet up with Serena, she wondered what this big treasure could be. The Ahway Island Ocean was full of mysteries and surprises, and Odette was always eager to learn about each and every one of them. When she was just a little octopus, she had heard stories about pirates and their jewels and gold. Maybe today’s treasure would be something that a pirate had lost in the ocean long ago.

Of course, Odette didn’t need anything valuable like jewelry or gold, it was just that she liked shiny objects no matter what they were made of. Maybe, if she found something shiny today, she would keep it in her burrow to remember this exciting treasure hunt with her friend.

Today’s Meditation: Enjoy the feeling of your body relaxing into the warm sand on a sunny beach.

211: The Missing Piece – a guided meditation and soothing story

211: The Missing Piece – a guided meditation and soothing story

Pete the Puzzle is missing a piece and worries that the kids won't be able to enjoy playing anymore. What will he do?

Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “The Missing Piece” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!

    Narrator: Male

    Final Dragon Breath: 7:43

    The Missing Piece Show Excerpt:

Peering outside through the living room window Pete the Puzzle could tell it was a day just for him. The sky was grey and the wind whistled through the trees.  The kids would want to stay in and do something where they could be toasty and warm.  There was just one problem.

The relaxing puzzle was missing a piece.  Pete worried what would happen when the kids discovered that they couldn’t finish the puzzle. How would they know what the picture was?  Pete wished he knew where that piece had disappeared to.  He didn’t have much time to figure it out before he was picked up off the shelf.  One of the boys had decided it was indeed a good day for a puzzle.

The little boy carried Pete over to a table where his brother waited.  He opened the puzzle box, and out tumbled the puzzle pieces. Pete watched as some of the pieces slid off the table and onto the floor, thinking, maybe that’s how the piece got lost in the first place.  The boys stooped down and picked up the puzzle pieces that had landed on the floor, placing them back on the table.

“How do you want to start?”  One of the boys asked the other.

    551. Road Rescue: a calming meditation and kid’s story

    551. Road Rescue: a calming meditation and kid’s story

Colin Car tries to take a road trip but ends up needing a little help from his friend Toby Tow Truck.

    Narrator: Male

    Story Begins: 4:46

    Road Rescue Excerpt:

It was a sunny morning on Ahway Island. Colin Car sat patiently waiting in his garage even though he was feeling excited. This afternoon, his driver, Courtney, would be taking them on a road trip up the island to visit some of Courtney’s relatives. Colin wasn’t exactly sure which road they would be taking, but no matter which road they took, he knew there would be interesting things to see.

Colin didn’t have to wait for too long. Just as he was imagining which one of Ahway Island’s roads he might drive on this morning, or which of his friends he might see on the road, he heard the door to the house open and close. It was Courtney, which meant they would be on the road soon!

Courtney came into the garage from the house and opened the big rolling garage door so that Colin could back out. Courtney sat down in the driver seat and fastened the seat belt before guiding Colin to carefully back up out of the garage.

    210. BCAI: A Change of Plans: a calming story and meditation for bedtime

    210. BCAI: A Change of Plans: a calming story and meditation for bedtime

Carmen the Convertible gets a flat tire. She'll have to change her plans and wait for some help.

Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “A Change of Plans” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!

    Narrator: Female

    Final Dragon Breath: 8:33

A Change of Plans Show Excerpt:

Cool air swirled around Carmen the convertible as she backed out of the garage.  The little blue convertible looked up at the soft grey sky, seamlessly filled with clouds.  She looked up at the trees as a leaf floated down to land on her hood.  Most of the branches were bare, their leaves were neatly gathered in piles at the edge of the yard.  Carmen pulled onto the street, ready to go wherever her driver wanted.

They traveled along their fresh newly paved street until she reached a street she had never seen before.  Her driver turned.  The little blue convertible was excited! They were going on an adventure!  Carmen followed the street. It was made of bricks and a bit bumpy.

The convertible had never seen a street like this before.  All the houses along this street seemed like they were from a different time, long ago. Trees reached across the street, their branches creating a canopy.

Carmen thought the street must be beautiful in the summer, when the trees were filled with leaves.  Then she imagined those trees as the green leaves changed to red, orange, and gold.  She imagined the branches dusted with snow.  Yes, no matter the season, the trees would be beautiful.  Carmen was glad her driver had turned onto this street.

Today’s Meditation: Imagine floating on a cloud, and relax into the feeling of lightness.

    549. Delivering Joy: a kids’ meditation and story

Gabby Flower Delivery Truck bravely drives to a new part of Ahway Island to collect flowers for a very special bouquet!

    Narrator: Female

    Story Begins: 4:19

    Delivering Joy Excerpt:

It was a cozy morning. The sun was just rising over Ahway Island, warming the earth with its brightness. The leaves gently swayed in the breeze. As the sun climbed higher in the sky, all of the plants, animals, people, and vehicles started to wake up.

Gabby Flower Delivery Truck had just started her morning with her driver, Skylar the Florist. Gabby loved delivering flowers! Everyone always had a big smile on their faces when Gabby and Skylar pulled up to their homes. Gabby loved making others happy – it was one of the reasons why she delivered flowers!

Skylar would collect everyone’s orders at the beginning of the week. Then, they would drive Gabby to the Community Garden or to other special areas on Ahway Island where flower picking was allowed to collect the perfect flowers for a bouquet.

Today’s Meditation: Love flows through you in this meditation as you imagine a baby fawn and mama deer.
