How To Start A Business As A Young Entrepreneur - How To Win With Video 008

How To Start A Business As A Young Entrepreneur - How To Win With Video 008

Wondering how to start a business as a young entrepreneur? You're not alone. It's difficult figuring how to start a business at any age, especially when you're young and still figuring things out. As someone who started a business at 21, and struggled figuring out how to make money as a photographer and videographer for a long time, it's important to me to have conversations like this one to help the next young entrepreneurs find success more quickly.

In this episode of How To Win With Video, I talk with Josh Farley. At the age of 22, Josh figured out how to become a young real estate agent (and a successful young real estate agent, at that), and the Owner of multiple businesses including TRC Contracting and 2nd Chance Credit Repair. At the time of this interview and when this video is being posted, Josh is 23 years old. He's got his stuff figured out. On top of being a young entrepreneur running multiple businesses at once, Josh was also a young first time home buyer, purchasing a house which he now uses as part of a rental property portfolio he's building.

If you take a look at his Instagram, you know two things about Josh- he knows how to work hard for success, and he knows how to work from anywhere. His focus and work ethic is top notch, and he's constantly using Instagram Stories to share what's going on in his day. Whether he's showing a house, sharing some tips for young entrepreneurs, or traveling to some exotic paradise, Josh makes sure he's part of your world via the phone in your pocket. The reason for sharing so much and posting consistently online? It's for the people who become clients. Like he says in our interview, when I first meet them they feel like they're best friends with me already."

So if you're a young entrepreneur trying to figure out how to run multiple businesses at once, or you're looking for an answer on how to start a business as a teenager, then this interview is for you. Josh gives some real insight on what it's like working hard for the life you want for yourself, including the awesome parts and the pitfalls. Some of the things you'll hear us talk about in this interview include the reality of how to make money from anywhere, how to push past failures as a young entrepreneur, the biggest advantage of posting consistently on social media, how to give yourself an edge over people who have years more experience than you, how to use video to build trust as a realtor, the power of work ethic and focus in becoming a successful entrepreneur, and how to show success online without being an ass about it.

How To Get Retainer Clients As A Video Strategist - How To Win With Video 007

How To Get Retainer Clients As A Video Strategist - How To Win With Video 007

One of the biggest problems plaguing videographers, video creators, and video strategists is the inconsistency of revenue. In an industry that often struggles knowing when to expect the next project, longterm deals with retainer clients can be a saving grace.

In this episode of How To Win With Video, I talk with David Bibiano, Owner of Take 17 Video Productions, and Co-Creator of The Real Deal Video Strategist Club. David's running his production agency primarily on huge retainer deals with clients, and he's helping hundreds of other video creators become video strategists who can help their clients get results and earn retainer deals. In this episode, some of the things you'll hear us talk about include why it's important to study logistics not just tactics, how to avoid revenue inconsistency in video businesses with retainer deals, the best industries for retainer deals, dominating your competitors during Covid, how to use Clubhouse as an entrepreneur, and how David's helping video creators achieve financial stability.

David attributes the way he does business with his agency to a life-changing quote he learned back in basic training. Like many important lessons in life, he didn't know what to make of it at the time, but as he moved forward it helped him achieve the huge success he's now having with his businesses. We kick off our interview talking about that, and it sets the tone for everything else we bring up.

How To Use TikTok To Grow Your Business - How To Win With Video 006

How To Use TikTok To Grow Your Business - How To Win With Video 006

When he noticed how quickly his daughter went from 0 to 10,000 followers, Kyle realized there was something special about TikTok. Before then, he'd never realized how many opportunities the platform would come from using and studying the platform.

In this episode of How To Win With Video, I talk with Kyle Kaplanis, Head of Talent with PRJT Z, about how he's helping influencers and businesses use TikTok to connect with their audiences, grow their followings, and bring in more revenue as a result. Some of the things you'll hear us talk about include: the huge advantage TikTok's algorithm gives people compared to other social media platforms, how businesses of all sizes can and SHOULD be using it, how TikTok is revolutionizing the job hunting process, some strategies for growing a following quickly, why it can be better to have a smaller audience, the debate of Clubhouse vs TikTok and if one is better than the other, and why posting the same content across all platforms is actually hurting you and your business.

Before he was managing influencers and setting up brand sponsorship deals, Kyle was working a respiratory therapist. When his daughter started rapidly building a following, he took a dive into the deep end of TikTok marketing and learned to swim VERY quickly. Kyle also hosts a podcast called BizTok, where he brings on guests to have conversations around using TikTok for business growth. I recommend checking that out, there's tons of eye-opening perspectives if you're considering using TikTok in your business strategy.

Revolutionizing Events With Livestreaming - How To Win With Video 005

With COVID-19 shutting down live events and conferences, industries and businesses needed to quickly find a way to adapt. Fortunately, today's technology makes professional livestreaming productions an attainable reality for more businesses than ever before.

In this episode of How To Win With Video, I talk with Zephan Blaxberg, Owner of ZMBmedia, about how he and his team are working with businesses and brands of all kinds to produce professional livestream events. Some of the things you'll hear us talk about include: the top three industries that Zephan feels are primed for livestream events, how to set up your livestream for success, the huge positive power of building an online community, and the start-to-finish livestreaming course that Zephan's launching to help videographers sell streaming as a service to their clients.

Besides being a successful video business owner, Zephan is a genuinely great guy who cares deeply about helping others. He founded and runs the Videographers Connect Facebook group, which serves as an incredible networking resource for thousands of videographers nationwide (and further than that). When COVID hit, he shifted his production operations into livestreaming, and has experienced awesome growth since then.

Outpacing Your Industry Using Communication - How To Win With Video 004

Outpacing Your Industry Using Communication - How To Win With Video 004

When the overwhelming majority of your industry is using antiquated ways of doing things because "they still work", all it takes is a little bit of innovation to get ahead of the curve and start outpacing your industry.

In this episode of How To Win With Video, I talk with Justin Heath about how he's doing exactly that as a Keller Williams realtor. In the first part of our conversation, we talk about handing rejection as an entrepreneur, how to grow your business by staying in front of people online, how to get testimonials that are way more effective than anyone else's in your market, what it means to be "professional" vs what it means to be "human", and the importance of open communication with your clients.

In the second part of our conversation, we talk about how relationships can outweigh outcomes, using psychology to "win", the frustrations of the credit system, and the most exciting part of real estate.

I wanted to bring Justin on the show because he approaches business with an entrepreneurial mindset, and there's many lessons to be learned about successfully outpacing your industry using communication from the way that he does things and the things he talks about in this episode. Justin has quickly risen to the a high level in his market, and is now focusing on cementing his personal branding to dominate even more.
