We received long anticipated notice to go to court. Attended two separate hearings over a 6 month time period. Judge and atrial Attorney do what’s right and change Jacque’s life for the better.

Visit to jail. Bashed heads. Asylum recommended.
I went to visit my client at dilapidated Miami jail. Was shocked by abusive treatment another prisoner received while I was there! Finished asylum application for client and mailed it. Client eventually moved to immigrant processing facility, Krome. Weeks pass. Finally, govt recommends asylum be granted !! Client released and Miami Herald covers story. Now we prepare for hearing in front of immigration judge!!

Entering the world of political asylum
This is a true story of one of my first clients in the late 1980s. I was working with the Haitian Refugee Center in Miami, and was asked to represent political asylum applicants who where poor, in jail, and Haitian. The experience changed my life!
