According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in April 2024, Nigeria's food inflation rate stood at 40.53% on a year-on-year basis.

I talked with 3 farmers (resident in Bokkos and Jos East), and they tried to explain the increase in the cost of potatoes and tomatoes (things including disease).

I join Christy Pam Makut (my namesake) on 'Voices of the Community' to discuss ways in which media reflects -and can help bridge- the gender gap in society.

Media can be a great tool for highlighting the challenges, achievements and potentials of women, and -itself- offer them more equal opportunities and rewards.

I get to meet the CEO of Zang Technologies, Zang Luka, whose company makes products such as a computer foot mouse for the physically challenged, odor absorbers, sieving machines, biodegradable packaging and power banks.
And he makes them by recycling electronic and agricultural waste!

Interestingly, he never went past secondary school education.

Mr Osacar Danladi Fwangmun (Co-founder, Jos Green Centre) talks about the effects of consumerism, and culture-based solutions to our waste problem. He also talks about a proposed primary level waste separation bill that would prioritise waste sorting from source in Plateau State.

Mr Samuel Dapiya (DG, PEPSA) responds to some concerns, and shares some of the current administration's ideas towards improving waste management through recycling.
