Inspired by the discovery of a report written by a senior detective into the murder of Sandra Rivett and months away from the 50th anniversary of the crime we present The Trial of Lord Lucan.
Co-presenters Caroline Cheetham and Stephen Wright discuss the importance of the police document that has surfaced after decades gathering dust. Voiced by an actor the words of Det Chief Supt Roy Ranson go into great detail about the events of the night of the murder.
The report includes references to a key prosecution witness who had a crush on Lucan and did not tell the police the ‘whole truth’ about their encounter hours after the Sandra Rivett death, and how the fugitive’s other friends in the ‘International Socialite Set’ were reluctant to assist detectives.
