The Back 2 US Show Rebooted is the journey of two Southern moms (Doc and Mystie) who are from two different life paths and forge a friendship while creating their chosen family in the midst of the COVID19 pandemic.

These two moms journey together to face hard truths. Sometimes the truth is hard to look at but it’s necessary that it surfaces to get past the ugly and start the change. Never regret finding an ugly truth because you are one step closer to finding a solution to fix the ugly and bring beauty into the world

Why Are We Here?
Reflections from Mystie: "You know starting this whole thing, this podcast interjecting thoughts (ego here) kept saying who are you to speak on this? Who wants to hear you. Or so many people have done this already what makes you think you are special and have valid points that people would want to hear... and honestly I don’t know if they do want to hear them or if my community is ready to hear them. It’s very controversial to be a moderate liberal in rural South Georgia from a white conservative Southern Baptist family. Messengers need to be in all parts of this world."

Reflections from Doc: "It's been five years since I had a podfaded. I launched the first black lesbian owned podcast network in 2013--at a time when there were few women in podcasting and ever fewer black lesbians. I started Back2Us Radio because my voice and the voice of those in my community were missing from the narrative. I'd been yearning to return to podcasting for about two years but I needed the right partner. Then came the pandemic. One day, Mystie and I found ourselves engrossed in a two hour conversation that just felt natural. When she mentioned that she wanted to do a podcast, I told her I wanted to get back to podcasting. Our podcast was born at that moment. Because we realized that we had that right mix and that made us indivisible."

Well Mystie and Doc had a hot mic in the studio and the conversation that they captured is truly the essence of why these two make such an incredible podcasting team. They are authentic. They are vulnerable. They are real. This hot mic became an unintentional episode to give listeners another glimpse into who these two are!
