Fighting Vaccine Misinformation with Purvi Parikh, M.D., FACP, FACAAI The WoMed

    • Medicine

We are still in a pandemic and unfortunately, the constant spread of misinformation is still relentless. Today, your hosts are joined by Dr. Purvi Parikh, an immunologist, allergy specialist, and medical correspondent for major news outlets like CNN, NBC, CBS, and Fox. They discuss long COVID prospects, how she found her calling to tackle misinformation, and when and how she started becoming a medical correspondent. They also discuss the role of social media in misinformation, battling traditional and social media, and having discourse with people who are against the vaccine. Purvi shares her experience with Fox News, calling out the CDC, vaccine trials, and whether or not pregnant women should get the booster shot (spoiler alert: they should!). Lastly, they dive into the new pills to help fight the virus and where Purvi sees this pandemic going.
