Many are closed now due to Covid-19, and Maria Chen and I sit down to talk about the welfare of elephants inside and outside of tourism camps. We also discuss the history of elephants in Thailand, the relationship between mahouts and their elephants, how travel bans are affecting elephants and their mahouts, and everything else that Maria learned while spending a month in Thailand, at the Mahouts Elephant Foundation, observing elephants.
