The role women have played in the rise of digital entertainment has been a controversial one. Reply girls made their mark on Youtube which would be the first instance of the Youtube algorithm(it is actually artificial intelligence, but people get scared when they hear that so, I'll just call it the algorithm) changing. It set up the blueprint to affect how money would be made on a billion dollar platform. After reply girls died out. Live streaming on Twitch became more popular, and a decent amount of women would use their sex appeal to gain money, followers, and clout. This would come not come without backlash, as these women would be labeled as "Twitch thots" and attention seeking.   In this short two part series I will show how female content creators went from the most hated on their respective platforms to the most highly sought out commodities in the digital entertainment sphere.  From Most Hated, to Highly Rated.
