In this episode, I sit down with the founders of the teacher advocacy organization, SC for Ed to talk about public education in South Carolina. Saani Perry and Lisa Ellis share their thoughts about the challenges educators face, as well as the opportunity to improve outcomes for students. You'll hear us discuss our personal experiences and illustrate how public education, poverty, housing, and more are connected.

This episode of She’s Got Issues, we will talk to two SC women about running and serving in political office. Melissa Watson Ward is the Executive Director of Emerge SC, and Tameika Devine currently serves on the City Council in Columbia, SC, and is running for Mayor. The focus of the episode is to put a personal face on challenges ordinary people face, and show how the right people in elected office can effect meaningful change.
