Every Monday from 6 - 7:45 pm on 105.5 KFGM, Missoula's Community Radio Station, I interview someone (mostly) from the local community and play several live tunes on acoustic guitar throughout the show to break it up. If I interview a musician, they play their tunes live and/or share their own recorded tracks.

    Episode 3: Astrology and Storytelling

    Episode 3: Astrology and Storytelling

The first half hour of this episode was spent with local astrologer Amanda Tripp Johansson (themoonandme.org).  We recorded on 9/23/19, and Amanda had a lot to share on the Fall equinox and celestial bodies as we headed away from summer and towards the colder half of the year.  The rest of the show was spent with Marc Moss, creator of Missoula's local storytelling event, Tell us Something (tellussomething.org).  Marc is a great storyteller himself and the 3 of us couldn't have had a cozier hour and 45 if we tried!

Episode 2: Ari Lissau and Resources for Community Resilience

Episode 2: Ari Lissau and Resources for Community Resilience

Ari is a very smart lady working for the Rural Institute at the University of Montana.  In the past year she made the realization that she would need to change habits and explore local, low cost options for maintaining her mental/emotional health.  What she found was supportive community and new paths and tools to help her stay grounded and resilient in the face of life's challenges.  In this episode she shares her experience of turning her back on the prescription drugs and finding local, holistic resources instead.  She approached me about giving an interview to communicate to others what she has learned, and so that others might benefit from what she has learned, and know that they are not alone.

Episode 1: Jon Van Dyke, GM of Missoula Community Radio

Episode 1: Jon Van Dyke, GM of Missoula Community Radio

In the first episode of Becca's Evening Buzz, recorded on 9/2/19, we talk to Jon Van Dyke, (at the time) general manager of 105.5 KFGM, Missoula's Community Radio Station. Topics covered included but not limited to:  the importance of Community Radio, how JVD caught the radio bug in the first place, and how you can get involved or support free speech in your community!  Jon Van Dyke has been hugely helpful to me in getting (first the Morning Buzz), then the Evening Buzz up and running, so it felt only fitting for my first guest to be one of my most appreciated mentors in Community Radio.  Love you KFGM!
