Older Drivers & Discrimination
Older Drivers & Discrimination. The unwritten rule in trucking is sad. Most carriers won't talk about it but it exists everywhere. Discrimination! True stuff. Did you know that many carriers have an age maximum they go by. It is unwritten but it is there. Most carriers go by the magic number of 70 years of age.
What am I talking about? Most carriers and their insurance companies are scared of older drivers. Most look at older drivers as, a possible heart attack behind the wheel. Drivers that are older, tend to need more maintenance. Doctor visits which also means less productive. Older drivers are a future cost in medical bills and the list goes on and on. The question is, is this wrong? Tune in and hear the latest episode of TalkCDL Trucking Podcast. Older Drivers & Discrimination
