The Narcissistic Family System at Work Hacking Narcissism

    • Society & Culture

This episode is a compilation of conversation snippets about institutional narcissism.

I describe what defines narcissistic behaviours, the narcissistic family system (NFS) and the roles of each family members and how the NFS applies to workplace contexts.

The purpose of this episode is to provide frameworks to understanding workplace power dynamics and draw parallels to our own family dynamic experiences. When we become aware of the hidden factors that underpin power dynamics and conflict at work, we can create change to break those patterns in our workplace relationships and apply our learning to liberate from co-dependence.

Each segment is a response to the following questions:

What is narcissism?
What are the various roles people play in their family of origin and how the dysfunctional dynamics show up professionally and in personal situation.
Can you talk a little about organizational culture?
Can you transition from Scapegoat to Golden Child?
How do I support organisational change and support those who are in it?
Where do I start the process of learning where I'm at with my own past story, and not projecting that on to my own kids, and helping them heal?
What's behind relationship conflict?

Please note:

The knowledge shared in each podcast did not come from reading books or published research articles. It's a result of observational studies, testing hypotheses and implementation of learning in practice for nearly 20 years.
