...Dr Moir returned to Aberdeen in 1828 with a group of about 5 colleagues and opened a private anatomy school that quickly became known locally as “The Burkin Hoose'' and the students and teachers known as Burkers. In direct reference to the crimes of Burke and Hare. 
Rumors and stories of the dark and macabre activities at The Anatomy Rooms spread like wildfire among the residents of Aberdeen...  




*It has been brought to our attention that Dr Moir is in fact buried in the Kirk of St Nicholas and not Kirkwall as stated. We'd like to apologise for any distress, confusion or inconvenience that this error may have caused.
