    This week on the BOX...
DJ has to leave early this week, so it's a short BOX, but he still manages to get in a tribute to Neil Peart.  Aside from the influence that Rush - and its individual members - have had on music in general, DJ speaks to his (almost) life-long affinity for Neil's stories and writing style.  Citing no bigger influence on the kind of writer he wants to be, DJ plays "A Farewell to Kings" and reads through the chorus just to highlight how poignant the words are today, and could be at any time in our later human history.  And that's what makes something lyrical become truly timeless.  The man and those stories will be missed.
Back to a full show next week, promise.

    This week on the BOX...
DJ is tired. all. the. time.  He also points out that even "gentle wake" alarm clocks still wake you - duh.
He talks a lot about the "a lot" of work there is in a band - and kinda how there is supposed to be, but apparently only for a select few.  He says there is literally "no end" to the work if you are at all interested in, or responsible for, the overall development of the band you're in.  And if you're not constantly doing something, you're probably not very helpful or instrumental in the bands progress, are you?
DJ also manages to get into a fight with fiverr over their seller-centric policies, and takes one of the customer service reps to task for suggesting that he should be more in touch via technology - even over a holiday weekend.  DJ basically tells them to go eff themselves, and may or may not imply that this is just another example of why people don't like twenty-somethings.
Tattoo requirements in "Something Heavy", John Benoit has a new project, a brief history of R9 cover songs and MORE!

    This week on the BOX...
DJ recaps the "Something Heavy" show with a ton of inside perspective into all the 'weird sh*t' that went down that night.  He also talks a lot about what it actually means when this particular group of people 'F' with you from the stage - and it's not nearly as bad as you'd think.
DJ also gets into the (fairly recent for him) phenomenon of losing fans because of ones public social commentary.  He's quick to dismiss its impact on anything that actually matters, but definitely acknowledges that it's bothering him way more than it should.
Self-promotion mastery with Annie Stoic and Jimmy G, DJ is sick - again - but super grateful about it, credit where credit is due and MORE!

    This week on the BOX...
DJ is all settled in with his new BOX computer... kinda.  He starts the show off "pretty sure" people can hear him and just kinda hopes for the best.  He also gets NEW MUSIC from Jimmy G, while on air, and has to figure out how to move a single song  between computer networks and across 2 different floors - all during one ADTR song!
DJ also talks about "stupid".  A lot.  "Stupid" - he says - is the worst offense out of being unintelligent or just plain old dumb, because stupid takes work.  and effort.  and willingness to be stupid.  And he simply can't suffer those kinds of people.  [Good luck with that, buddy!]
New Music up the wazoo (sp?), DSP's super-early show, plenty of Xmas music and MORE!

Hard Rock Lunch Box: #326 [12/12/2019] Talking with Annie Stoic from Jackknife Stiletto

Hard Rock Lunch Box: #326 [12/12/2019] Talking with Annie Stoic from Jackknife Stiletto

    This week on the BOX...
Annie Stoic stops by the BOX to talk about their new Holiday Video for "Dear Santa" and then hangs to talk about almost everything else!
Annie discusses how far is "too far" when it comes to sexually harassing jolly old elves, how Roxy ended up being Old St. Nick for the shoot and how easily she seems to be able to write sexual innuendos.
DJ talks (a lot) about how interesting it is to see Annie write songs that can be somewhat offensive to guys - and yet she isn't saying anything that guys haven't been singing about the ladies... for YEARS.  And even though Annie refuses to wear a cape, DJ still insists she's doing something really good for all women and women's empowerment.
Car trouble for Vannie Stoic, Bowling for Soup dates, Christmas "Stalking" and MORE!
    PS: She took my cat!
