    A New Science of Awe.

    A New Science of Awe.

I share reflections on a 2003 paper by Dacher Keltner and Jonathan Haidt. Dacher wrote the book Awe last year.
What is the experience of wonder and awe? What part does it play in our lives? How does awe influence us and our journey?
** What is missed by these great minds: the experience is governed by our own perspective or value of the experience. We are the arbiter is value. It is us, we are the 'doula' of awe, the midwife of value. We are the evaluators, the choice to see awe is ours. The experience of Awe and faith both require a commitment and community, both.
** Default mode network!? This is the term science uses for the place in the brain that they attribute to the self, to consciousness... Awe and meditation reduces activity in this area...
**In Buddhism, equanimity (Pali: upekkhā; Sanskrit: upekṣā) is one of the four sublime attitudes and is considered: Neither a thought nor an emotion, it is the steady conscious realization of reality's transience. It is the ground for wisdom and freedom and the protector of compassion and love.

Meaning is not lost, just hidden.

Meaning is not lost, just hidden.

Are we hearing our language become worthless? Do elites abuse language so much so: that the message is lost as is the meaning and value of the language itself. How do we see the world... Where even philosophers fail...

Amor fati and agapemoirai. I misspoke in the episode. Not agoramoirai. Still works as the error means learning from the fates? The value of fate. The marketplace of fate...

**Accidentally an ASMR episode. As I am reading a book about Awe. How ASMR can be used to heal/treat anxiety/trauma. As well as give the same experience of Awe: in a tight package?

Can we become our own healer and guide?

Can we become our own healer and guide?

I try to explain the James-Lange theory of emotion. In so doing have we proven the theory, and understand what and where we can source trauma? In Junger's book Tribe. He explains how soldiers having only heard of combat: were identified as PTSD at higher rates than combat soldiers.
Old ideas meet new: and both are illuminated and expanding...

It is not the experience, but how we process and proceed after the event. How we choose to react to a situation. Is it a conscious choice for those present in the moment?

Who are We, Who am I?

Who are We, Who am I?

What is individuation. My thoughts on Carl Jung's "the archetypes and the unconscious", his psychology, active imagination, individuation, self actualization... Who are you, who are we, where are we, where do we go...

What is with all the religious conversions?

What is with all the religious conversions?

I discuss the recent but palpable movement towards Faith, to belief or trust. Why are so many, once against faith, turning towards truth? Do we have a God shaped hole in us, we call a soul?

Is pride a problem, or the lack of something to be proud of?
