How necessary are New Year’s resolutions? Are they backed by shame or guilt? This new year let’s focus on positive goal outcomes & how we can be on the road to achieve what we need. The New Year should not be filled with negative self talk as that only limits us as we move forward in the upcoming months. This episode is meant to challenge the thought process each January & to set “SMART” goals! Also, in this episode, I share my new word of the year for 2024! If you haven’t heard of this, I did an entire podcast episode on a ritual I’ve implemented into my life each year that I find impactful & inspiring.

    Let’s talk: Team Beachbody !

    Let’s talk: Team Beachbody !

As a nutrition student, public health is a priority to me. Beachbody is a massive wellness empire but is it trustworthy? Is it dependable for the sake of our well-being? In this episode, I share my personal opinion on the pros & cons of this company based on facts and some of the opinions from my own personal experiences. In a world, riddled in diet culture, Beachbody now known as BODi, still stands strong on its own. Nutrition and Exercise are important components to health but so is our financial and mental well-being. Let’s shed a little light on the topic! In this episode I share my own story and why I don’t trust their coaching system. You should question it too! I did a research report on this topic & I want to share my thoughts behind this well known MLM.

My opinion on Ozempic for PCOS

My opinion on Ozempic for PCOS

Reminder: this is solely an opinion and NOT medical advice. This episode is meant to motivate you to question your healthcare system if you feel the care you are receiving is not the right fit for you. There is so much controversy on these diabetes medications and the very rampant abuse of them that we are seeing. It’s not normal & this is your time to critically think. As a woman with PCOS, I share my experiences and why I think holistic nutrition is not often promoted along lifestyle management. There are major inequities in our healthcare system with a lot of bias towards women and their health. Did you know women in history were labeled as hysteric & crazy? The word hysteria is derived from the uterus. Women have been labeled since the beginning of time & it’s necessary to speak out on topics where women are blamed, shamed and gaslit by our medical system. Your weight does not define your worth! A great TEDTalk on Healthcare Bias: Gender Inequality in Health Heather
Bowerman TEDxBerkeley (you can find on YouTube) & also: How biases in healthcare can be deadly I Safia Hattab | TEDxHopeCollege (found on YT as well). Women need to stand together and raise awareness on the bias we still face today.

    Vulnerability VS. Bravery ✨

    Vulnerability VS. Bravery ✨

How do you face challenges in moments of vulnerability? In this episode I discuss vulnerable moments in my life and how I choose to persevere. Vulnerability is a normal human emotion and often times it’s something that gets swept under the rug and shrug off as a sign of weakness. If this is something you do, you may be missing the point of the strength it takes to be vulnerable. Acknowledging the things that make us feel uneasy/vulnerable is an act of bravery and it is an opportunity to face challenges. It’s a chance to connect with others who feel the same. Fear is a choice and we are in control of our emotions. On this episode I speak about how being a plus-size woman shouldn’t hold anyone back from our goals. No matter our body size, we must dismiss judgements because body size does not determine worthiness, intelligence or commitment to a goal. Health looks different on everyone. And as I go through my journey as a Dietetics student I am here to take you along with me on the ride because together we can achieve greatness. Sharing our vulnerable moments helps us to connect with others and act with courage. So which is better - to be vulnerable or to be brave? Give this episode a listen & find out! In this episode I talk about overcoming our vulnerabilities, weight loss / weight gain, change and a bit about weight loss surgery. Get ready to feel empowered. Thank you all so much for listening to these episodes for the past 2 years - I am so excited to be on Season #3! Together we can spread compassion, love & kindness✨
