    • Kurse

In today's image, we see a portion of the Vela Supernova Remnant. This is the remnant of a star that would have been seen to explode here on Earth over ten thousand years ago. The expanding filaments have been slightly enriched in heavier elements which will eventually form seed material for the next generation of stars. My podcasts are available in video form through this YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWksELVw1LfYg6TiLQyjByw).This Podcast is an authorized New Media Mirror Site for APOD.
