    Buffalo Jones and the Heard

It's been a while since we had an episode, so we start out with a little update on the lives of the Backstage Queens and what we have been up to lately.

We sat down with the Buffalo Jones and the Heard gang at the season finale of their new residency called the Big Buschy Bonanza at the Great White Buffalo in Stillwater. While this residency will be on a summer hiatus, it will be back in the fall! This band brings all the fun and entertainment wherever they go! Lively and talented, quick witted and engaging, this band is bringing a fresh new vibe with their "Ya'll-ternative" style. Tune in the hear what they have to say!

    Red Dirt Randy's Memorial

    Red Dirt Randy's Memorial

This episode was recorded at the memorial held in honor of the one and only Red Dirt Randy, where we got to sit down with Randy's brother and sister and talk about the man, the myth, the legend.

William (Red Dirt Randy) Hare passed away from complications from diabetes on November 24, 2021. Randy grew up in Midwest City, served in the Marines, and was a healthcare worked assisting mentally and physically challenged patients. He was 38 years sober and an active member of the twelve-step program and helping mentor others. Randy's first love was Red Dirt music and everything associated with it. He attended every possible show he could, and made friends wherever he went.

He will be missed greatly and we are glad we were able to attend the memorial in his honor. We are so very sorry this is so late being published. Life threw lots of things our way, including a move out of state for Leah, which makes it hard to do the podcast.

We hope to occasionally still be able to record one, but we want to thank all of you who have tuned in on our adventures and joined us in the fun. We appreciate you.

Part 3 of the Last Call Celebration: We got the band back together again.

Part 3 of the Last Call Celebration: We got the band back together again.

This is part 3 in a 3 part series of podcasts featuring interviews from at the Last Call Celebration held at the end of July in Stillwater, in honor of Chad Sullins, who passed away in June of heart complications. The day was filled with music, memories, laughter and tears as we all came together to pour out our love in Chad's memory and to help raise money for his children.

The event, hosted by Tumbleweeds and Red Dirt Relief Fund, in addition to other events and fundraisers, raised over $40k for his three children. We were honored to have been a part of Chad's life. Chad leaves a void in the red dirt family tree, and he will forever be in our hearts.

We were honored to take part in the Last Call Celebration and were able to sit down with several people, including the previous members of the Last Call Coalition, which resulted in a couple of different episodes for this series.

Episode 1 shares The Red Dirt Queen of Heart's story, our own Tonya Little, and how she found her way to the red dirt scene through Chad.

Episode 2, we sat down with several different people who were at the event, to collect their stories and memories of Chad and the part he played in their lives. We had some really great conversations with everyone there, and it was a great episode.
In this final episode, we got the members of the Last Call Coalition together, minus Jeremy Clark who was unable to make it, to share their stories and adventures of life on the road and together as the band that backed Chad Sullins for so many years.

Thank you for your patience with these getting out, we know it has taken a while, but we saved the best for last! We appreciate our listeners!

Part 1 of the Last Call Celebration: The Red Dirt Queen of Hearts

Part 1 of the Last Call Celebration: The Red Dirt Queen of Hearts

We were honored to take part in the Last Call Celebration at the end of July at Tumbleweeds in Stillwater, to celebrate the life and legacy of Chad Sullins who passed away in June of heart problems. The benefit was also to raise money for his three children. We were able to sit down with several people, including the previous members of the Last Call Coalition, which resulted in a couple of different episodes. This first part is a one on one interview we did later, after the event, between us, Leah and Tonya, as she interviewed me about my experience with Chad and how I found my way into this whole scene. Leah wanted to get my story and thoughts in the mix, and I was glad to do it.

Back to the Music: The Deli

Back to the Music: The Deli

It had been so long since we got the chance to record a podcast, or even get to go to many live music shows, with the COVID Pandemic. We were ridiculously excited to get to record this at The Deli on January 30th, where a whole barrage of Okie talent were playing to celebrate Samantha Coppedge's birthday. When Ben Brock asked her what she wanted for her birthday, she said live music, so he gathered some of the best in the business and made it happen. We got to chat with Megan Marlene, Rachel Lynch, Chloe-Beth, Ben Brock, Lane Hawkins, Ryan Oldman, Jayson Starkey, Haystack Foster, Dwight Hamlin, Caleb Shirtum, Walton Mcmurry, and Joshua Polascheck. We talked about how they were all coping with the COVID pandemic, and what they had been up to lately. Tune in and Check it out!
