Regeneration is not a reforming of the old man, but is God making a brand new man in us. A spiritual awakening takes place, an inward transformation births within us by the Holy Spirit called the new creation.

The Old Testament sacrificial system established a structure to cover sin. But God’s plan of Redemption wasn’t over. He wanted to do away with the consequences of sin forever. 2000 years ago in steps, Jesus…and in the words of John the Baptist, he said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” -

Isaac speaks about the how we are justified by faith in Jesus though the divine exchange at the cross. We are justified before God - 'Just as if we never sinned' . However this has nothing to do with our performance and is all to do with Jesus who took our sin upon himself in order we might become justified in the sight of God.
