General Biology is an introductory course to the study of living organisms, including animals, plants, and microorganisms. The fundamental aspect of all life is that of a cell. Therefore, we will spend a significant amount of time looking at how eukaryotic cells maintain life functions, and much less time on how prokaryotic cells function. Other aspects of this course include all types of interactions of cells in tissues, organs, and to a lesser extent systems, and organisms. This course lays a foundation for more advanced studies in all forms of life which God created, including botany, ecology, microbiology, zoology, genetics, physiology, and other more specialized courses. (Lecture: 3 hours; Lab: 2 hour) Prerequisite: none
