In this episode—which took over one year to edit and produce due to the incredibly high production value and definitely not at all due to the generalized turmoil of 2021—Sydney and Sarah Jane watch a Richard Dreyfuss deep cut that was classified as X-rated until 1996. There’s a part where SJ implies optimism for the upcoming year of 2021. Ignore that part. CONTENT WARNING: This is a movie about depression-era porn and heroin. It’s not cute like Goodbye Girl. There’s some bad stuff. But you do get to see Richard’s balls, and that’s really something.

In this episode of High and Dreyfuss, Sydney and Sarah Jane discuss why bullying is kind of sexy, why child actors are insufferable, Richard's Big Lizzo Energy, and the time SJ did edibles while watching Spotlight in college and got way too tiddly. SJ also has the sobering realization that Sydney is the lead in this quirky romantic comedy we call life, and she's just the Judy Greer who's along for the ride. 

Sarah Jane and Sydney discuss some of the lesser-studied aspects of the classic summer blockbuster, Jaws, including but not limited to: the pervasive yonic imagery throughout the film, the phenomenon of "Island Hot," the and the satisfying and powerful suspense of delayed gratification through deliberate withholding of visible sharks, and/or visible dicks. 

Sydney James is a film major, Sarah Jane has a major crush on Richard Dreyfuss. They both enjoy the occasional marijuana after dinner on a Friday. In their debut episode of High and Dreyfuss, they order Close Encounters of the Third Kind on PayPerView, recline the chesterfield, roll a jazz cigarette, and begin their exploration of the vast film career Richard Dreyfuss blessed unto this universe. Sydney really doesn't like space or the third kind, and Sarah Jane has a lot of pent-up feelings, so there's a lot to unpack, in this, our first encounter.
