Jesus in his final moments on earth, with all the authority of heaven, communicated his instructions to his disciples. Those objectives continue today. As stewards of his church, how are we doing with the mission he gave us?

The disciples wanted to know how someone could become the greatest in the Kingdom. Jesus had a surprising answer that encouraged them to look to the youngest as a model.

It’s easy to get wrapped up in the externals of having our life together. But Jesus isn’t content with appearances. He cares about the condition of our heart and encourages us to take a look at what might need some cleaning.

Right actions are important. But Jesus takes it to a whole other level by commanding us to examine our motives. They matter to Jesus and they should matter to us as well. From Matthew 6.

It is easy to make judgments based on appearances. But Jesus reminds us our assessment can often be wrong. He invites us to a redemptive way of helping others with their struggles only after we’ve considered our own struggles first.
