Tamika's journey began in 2023, when she recognized the hurdles tradeswomen faced in the industry and stepped forward as a mentor, guiding them through the complex maze toward becoming general contractors. Her dedication to empowering women in construction led her to teach construction classes at a technical high school in her hometown of Newark, NJ.

The creation of She Contractor marks a pivotal moment in Tamika's quest to forge a supportive network for tradeswomen.
