Why You Should Pursue The Spirit | David Alley | 19 May 2024
This Sunday, David talks about why we should value the Gifts of the Spirit. In the Old Testament, the gifts of the Spirit were rare, and only a handful of old testament characters were said to be "Filled with the Spirit". In Joel 2:28, a prophecy is given about the Holy Spirit: “...[Afterwards], I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh…”. This prophecy was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost, and now the gifts of the Spirit are available to every Christian. We need to see these gifts for how valuable they are, and pursue them.

His Strength In Weakness
In Paul's 2nd letter to the Corinthians, he talks about a 'Thorn in his flesh' that he pleads with the Lord to take away from him. But in response, the Lord makes this remarkable statement: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”. (2 Corinthians 12:8)
