Episode 196 - Martin Arellano Jr. - TacoMex
If you grew up in the 90's and early 2000's here in Calexico you probably remember the name TacoMex. The Arellano's and their food have been a staple in our community since 1992 when they first opened TacoMex. For most people who are in the restaurant business they know that owning a restaurant is a family affair and most of the time the younger members of the family end up hating it and don't see it as a future career, but not for Martin Arellano Jr. After being away for a while and running 3 successful food trucks in the San Antonio area he's come back to help his parents with Birria Red but only with one condition, if they let him bring back TacoMex to life and after having a successful soft open this past weekend the future looks bright for this new TacoMex era!

Today I had the pleasure of taking to a very talented local artist who is doing some amazing murals all over the valley in local businesses and pretty soon you'll be seeing them in other public places, my guest today was Sergio Ojeda Jr ands some people might also know him as Takito91. Sergio is one of the 15 Imperial Valley artist who are part of the Far South/Border North: Artists and Cultural Practitioners in Community grant, is will be looking for volunteers in the areas where he has chosen to paint mural so please follow him on social media to stay up date and know when and where you can come and help out.
