Soccer In The States Johnny Clifford

Paul Kato is the founder of KITA (otherwise known as the Kato international training academy) which is an organization that provides education and soccer coaching to youth in Nigeria. Paul moved from Nigeria to the United States as a young boy and has been involved in soccer his whole life. He played 4 years of college soccer at Spring Arbor University before playing professionally in the indoor leagues across the United States.

He is currently a teacher at Mason High School in Michigan, and has spent the past 10 years working on his KITA project. Paul's story is incredibly inspiring and I encourage anyone that has an interest or would like to help to reach out to the organization online.

Episode 5 is with Jaymee Highcock. Jaymee is the head coach of the men and women's program at William Penn University. Great listen for any young coaches, or anyone in the UK thinking about coming to USA.

This week I sat down with San Antonio FC Assistant Coach, and Academy Director, Nick Evans. Nick and I chat about his journey as a young lad growing up in the UK, and the decision he made to come over to the United States. Evans talks about SAFC's plans for their academy, and what he believes is important for not only the development of his club, but for the sport in general. Enjoy!

Episode 3 is with Walker Hume- Walker is a good friend of mine and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, where he played for the Tar Heels, before being drafted in the second round of the MLS Superdraft to FC Dallas. We sat down in a hotel lobby in LA to speak about his rookie season in the MLS, his plans for the future and had a good chat about what it takes to become a successful CB. Episode 1 - I sat down with Paul McGinley from Trinity University. Since his appointment in 1991, Coach McGinlay has amassed a record of 459-74-29 (.843). He is ranked fourth in winning percentage among active NCAA Division III coaches and fifth on the all-time list of soccer coaches.
