012 : NFTs, Metallica and YouTube Music

012 : NFTs, Metallica and YouTube Music

Episode number 12 is all about education and no tea. Well a little bit. It's quite wonderful to see how this is evolving into a conversation, I think this was our goal from the start. Anyway, enough with the pleseantries. In this episode we talk (rather extensively) about NFTs and Metallica and then YouTube music and some breakthrough ideas. Should we bring some people over? Idk, tell us.

011 : The Great Lo-Fi Purge, Pre-saves, NFTs and royalty splits

011 : The Great Lo-Fi Purge, Pre-saves, NFTs and royalty splits

Well would you look at that. The boys are back in town, with a vengence and the usual conviction to get to the bottom of everything. We start off in the new year with audio problems (as usual, because why not?) and continuing with gaming experience, the GREAT LOFI PURGE and what that entails and Pre-saves and fanlinks. We love our chat on Instagram so we WILL take on your questions, and we did. That NFT segment was only scratching the tip of the iceberg, we will get back to it in the next episodes - seems that the Lofi world has high expectations already. We also talked about royalty splits and who's doing what - and maybe - what they should be doing. Oh, this time Aaron talked more. Fuck yo life, BING BONG!

010 : Reflecting on 2021, Ian Urbina and how to NOT run a music label

What a year this has been. From major contoversies to scams and saturation of music. We also talked about the Ian Urbina situation, providing commentary on the YouTube video posted by Benn Jordan. We keep it light and easy on this one. It's the end of the year, the end of the first Sunday Roast season, the end of the world as we know it (?). Have a merry Christmas and and happy New Year everyone. See ya in 2022, fuck yo life, Bing Bong!

009 : Numbats and marsupials, Spotify Wrapped, Apple Charts and bottled-up rants

009 : Numbats and marsupials, Spotify Wrapped, Apple Charts and bottled-up rants

Numbats, also known as the noombat or walpurti, is an insectivorous marsupial. We also talked about realistic expectations and the toxic mindset of Spotify numbers. Useless flexing of a 41yo man, breaking down - live - on the internet (Paul). How to diversify your music and professional portfolio, the importance of organic marketing, VSTs, plugins, dreams and aspirations. The new year is closing in and we are getting more emotional. Bare with us.

008 : Major labels, fast cash, merch rant and learning Hindu

Today we talk about Paul's extensive and in-depth experiences working with a major label for a year, the "then" business plan or lack of and what to look out for. We have also mistakenly provided a platform to a "one-trick-pony" across the pond. There's no such thing as bad advertisment and we deffo did NOT follow our own preaching. Oh well... there's worse things than lofi scams and that could be lofi label merch? Do you need it? Does it make sense? As always you get our personal take and learnings / experience along with some sweet sweet roasting. Last but not least, we decided to adress the live chat and take on a commenter / heckler and we learned some Hindu bad words and then some. Funny enough, 3 Indian producer friends of ours were watching the live, so this turned into a complete roast, really fast. We still working on our puns, so bare with us. Two more for number 10 guys! ESKERIIIIIIIIIT!!!!

007 : Release strategies, Label simping, Solo releases and Mixing

007 : Release strategies, Label simping, Solo releases and Mixing

Today we talk about (extensively) release strategies, formats and best practices. What is a successful release and how do YOU measure success? EPs and LPs vs a plethora of singles. Why do producers simp to known labels in the scene and why you should release solo (more often than you think). We share our own personal experiences on that. For some reason DJ Khalleed was brought up in the chat and Paul went off the rails roasting him, while Aaron watched helplessly, thinking he will never have chance to work with one fo the greatest out there. Then they both fan-girled about Tyler the Creator. Briefl touch on mixing / mastering and more personal anecdotes.

pueblovista ,

It was 'bout time

Sometimes things need to be said. Even tho most people in the scene won't speak out publicly, I'm glad to see them agree with what's said. Life's too short to hold your farts. There's more space outside than inside.
