Next Level Thanksgiving (November 20, 2016) | Judah Thomas

If you don't turn the blessing into ____________ it will turn into ____________.

The opposite of gratitude is ______________________.

[Colossians 1:12a] and giving joyful thanks to the Father,

[Psalm 107:2] Has the LORD redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.

    Thankful ____________

Before we can be thankful we need to become ____________ of the good things God is doing around us.

[Deuteronomy 8:7-11] For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land of flowing streams and pools of water, with fountains and springs that gush out in the valleys and hills. [8] It is a land of wheat and barley; of grapevines, fig trees, and pomegranates; of olive oil and honey. [9] It is a land where food is plentiful and nothing is lacking. It is a land where iron is as common as stone, and copper is abundant in the hills. [10] When you have eaten your fill, be sure to praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you. [11] “But that is the time to be careful! Beware that in your plenty you do not forget the Lord your God and disobey his commands, regulations, and decrees that I am giving you today.

If you want the ____________ you need to praise!

    Thankful ____________ though

Can I thank God even in ____________ times?

[Habakkuk 3:17-18] Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, [18] yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.

    Thankful ____________ of

[2 Corinthians 12:9-10] Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. [10] That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

I thank Him because of what the __________ is producing in me.

[1 Thessalonians 5:18] Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

[Hebrews 13:15] Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name.

LESSER-KNOWN: The Mustard Seed | Judah Thomas

LESSER-KNOWN: The Mustard Seed | Judah Thomas

There is great ___________________ within things that seem insignificant.

[Matthew 13:31-32] Here is another illustration Jesus used: "The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed planted in a field. [32] It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of garden plants; it grows into a tree, and birds come and make nests in its branches."

God can use even the smallest acts of ______________ to bring about ___________________ things.

[Zechariah 4:10a] Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin...

Keep moving forward when the growth process seems ___________________ and ___________________.

    Lasting growth always requires ___________________.

[1 Corinthians 3:6-9] I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow. [7] It's not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What's important is that God makes the seed grow. [8] The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. [9] For we are both God's workers. And you are God's field. You are God's building.

We need to ___________________ the seeds of our faith.

My small actions can bring ___________________ to someone in need.

[Matthew 17:20] "You don't have enough faith," Jesus told them. "I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it would move. Nothing would be impossible."

In God We Trust: Liberty (November 13, 2016) | Judah Thomas

[John 8:32] And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

[John 14:6] Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

The first step of freedom is coming to __________.

You are not defined by what's around you, you are defined by the ___________ living inside of you!

As followers of Christ we forfeit many of the so-called _______________ of our country.

    FREEDOM FROM __________

[Galatians 5:13] For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.

Just because you have the freedom to act like a _____________ doesn't mean you should.

In order to be tolerant you need to accept people with an __________________ view as yourself.

[John 8:36] So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.

    FREEDOM FROM __________

[Romans 8:1] So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.

Once you are forgiven...you are _______________!

There aren't different ____________ of forgiveness.

[2 Corinthians 3:17] For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

LESSER-KNOWN: Pharisee & Tax Collector | Judah Thomas

LESSER-KNOWN: Pharisee & Tax Collector | Judah Thomas

[Luke 18:9-10] Then Jesus told this story to some who had great confidence in their own righteousness and scorned everyone else: [10] "Two men went to the Temple to pray. One was a Pharisee, and the other was a despised tax collector.

Pride is nearly impossible to _________________________.

[Luke 18:11-14] The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer: 'I thank you, God, that I am not a sinner like everyone else. For I don't cheat, I don't sin, and I don't commit adultery. I'm certainly not like that tax collector! [12] I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.'

God doesn't count the _______________ of our prayers; He measures the _______________.

[Matthew 6:5-6] "When you pray, don't be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get. [6] But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.

God values ____________________________ in our prayers more than eloquence.

[Luke 18:13-14] "But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, 'O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.' [14] I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted."

True humility isn’t thinking _______________ of yourself; it’s thinking of __________________ less and God more.

True righteousness comes from a _______________ heart.

[Matthew 23:11-12] The greatest among you must be a servant. [12] But those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

God's _______________ is available to all regardless of their _______________.

In God We Trust: Under God (November 6, 2016) | Judah Thomas

In God We Trust: Under God (November 6, 2016) | Judah Thomas

We are to _______________ the authorities of the land.

[John 19:10-11] “Why don’t you talk to me?” Pilate demanded. “Don’t you realize that I have the power to release you or crucify you?” [11] Then Jesus said, “You would have no power over me at all unless it were given to you from above. So the one who handed me over to you has the greater sin.”

[Romans 13:1-2] Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. [2] So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished.

Submit (Greek: hypotassō): to put ____________ one's control. ____________ to someone's advice or authority.

Submission is an _______________ not an action.

[1 Kings 11:14, 23, 26] Then the Lord raised up Hadad the Edomite, a member of Edom’s royal family, to be Solomon’s adversary. [23] God also raised up Rezon son of Eliada as Solomon’s adversary. Rezon had fled from his master, King Hadadezer of Zobah, [26] Another rebel leader was Jeroboam son of Nebat, one of Solomon’s own officials.

We trust in a God who reigns even over ______________ people.

Submission starts with having a heart that says “_________” to God.

For a nation to be under God it starts with ____________ who are under God's authority.

The American dream is often _______________ of living a life under God.

[Titus 3:1] Remind the believers to submit to the government and its officers. They should be obedient, always ready to do what is good.

We will submit to the government but we put our ______________ in God.

Don't run from culture, _______________ it!

LESSER-KNOWN: The Rich Fool | Judah Thomas

LESSER-KNOWN: The Rich Fool | Judah Thomas

[Luke 12:13-15] Then someone called from the crowd, "Teacher, please tell my brother to divide our father's estate with me." [14] Jesus replied, "Friend, who made me a judge over you to decide such things as that?" [15] Then he said, "Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own."

    Greed isn't about having a ____________; it’s about wanting ____________.

[Luke 12:16-21] Then he told them a story: "A rich man had a fertile farm that produced fine crops. [17] He said to himself, 'What should I do? I don't have room for all my crops.' [18] Then he said, 'I know! I'll tear down my barns and build bigger ones. Then I'll have room enough to store all my wheat and other goods. [19] And I'll sit back and say to myself, "My friend, you have enough stored away for years to come. Now take it easy! Eat, drink, and be merry!"' [20] "But God said to him, 'You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?' [21] "Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God."

    Don't prioritize material _________________ over spiritual _________________.

[Ecclesiastes 5:10] Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness!

The measure of life isn't what we _________________ for but what we _________________ for.

[Matthew 6:19-21] "Don't store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. [20] Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. [21] Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.

Are we focused on _________________ treasure or on _________________ treasure?

The pursuit of wealth will make us _________________, but the pursuit of God brings _________________.
