In this podcast, Jessica Chase seeks to boldly and unapologetically enter into the discussions that people are often unwilling to have. With a foundation rooted in the objective truth of God's Word, the hope for this podcast is that it creates a place for this truth to be told. EP 4 | Lil Nas X, Colton Underwood & Approaching Homosexuality Biblically | Guest: Husband Nate Chase

In this episode, I’m pleased to welcome my husband to the podcast as my first ever guest. Our plan was to introduce him on a ‘newlywed’ episode, but this topic has been weighing so heavily on our hearts, we had to sit down for this conversation first. We will be covering an article (linked below) pertaining to the life of Lil Nas X, as he grew up in a church environment. While the article has several classic elements of a smear piece towards the church and conservatism in general, our mission in this part of the episode is to discuss our concerns regarding comments, made by pastors, relating to the experience of Lil Nas.

Additionally, we address Bachelor Nation’s Colton Underwood. In his recent interview on Good Morning America with Robin Roberts, he describes himself as a gay man publicly for the first time. Colton has openly professed to be a Christian on various occasions. For this reason, we feel it is especially important to address this situation and the statements made during the interview. We read the prominent components of Colton’s discussion and dive into a Biblical response to stories like this one.

Briefly, we touch on God’s design for the gift of sex. We use Scripture as the guide for the following questions:

    -Is homosexuality a sin?

-What does it look like to love others Biblically?

    -What about shame?

-What about just wanting someone to be happy?

EP 3 | Romans 1 & Essential Components of the Gospel

EP 3 | Romans 1 & Essential Components of the Gospel

In this episode I read through an incredibly impactful chapter in the New Testament: Romans 1. This chapter describes our desperate condition and need for forgiveness. Additionally, it reveals that what we are experiencing and hearing in our world today is extremely reminiscent to what was being seen as Paul was writing to the Roman Christians. You know what they say, as much as things change... as much as they stay the same. But the best part about the chapter is how it sets the scene for us to see ourselves as we truly are apart from new life in Christ. The book of Romans is a wonderful testament to what truth and salvation by faith are able to do in our lives.

This episode is meant to emphasize the often disregarded components of the gospel, pertaining to salvation, that are essential for the full extent of our understanding. Where do we stand apart from God? Is there anything for good people to be concerned about? How does what Jesus did on the cross so long ago impact anyone today? Is a loving God really capable of wrath and judgment? How can we have hope?

    Let's get into it!

EP 2 Part 2 | Progressive Feminism: Empowerment Laced with Destructive Deceit

EP 2 Part 2 | Progressive Feminism: Empowerment Laced with Destructive Deceit

In part 2 of this episode, I describe what makes women special from a Biblical perspective. Having an understanding of God’s design for women, as well as His view of them, gives new meaning to the confidence and empowerment that so many women are craving. I also talk about some common misconceptions I hear thrown around about the Biblical design for women, as well as how women can strive to be all that God calls them to be. Lastly, I touch on where we can find long-lasting and liberating freedom.

Ladies, I hope that this episode is your starting point down a path I’ve been traveling for many years now: contentment in what it means to be a woman loved by God and anchored in the identity that He created, followed by the joy of submission that comes from living with this mentality.

EP 2 Part 1 | Progressive Feminism: Empowerment Laced with Destructive Deceit

EP 2 Part 1 | Progressive Feminism: Empowerment Laced with Destructive Deceit

In part 1 of this episode, I discuss the increasingly progressive feminist movement. Equally valuing men and women makes constitutional and Biblical sense. However, there are consistent negative trends and outcomes emanating from the progressive feminist movement. I discuss a foundational proponent to modern feminism, Margaret Sanger, and the connection that was created between cultural Marxism and the feminist movement we observe today. This episode also covers spiritual fruit as described in Galatians Chapter 5, and how this can be utilized to compare the "fruit" that progressive feminism is bearing. How does progressive feminism impact the next generation? Who can women trust? What trends do we see occurring alongside progressive feminism? Where can women find true liberation?

    Let's get into it together!
