    Whitney Little & Henry Bell

    Whitney Little & Henry Bell

In the season one finale of XOXO by The Knot your podcast host Whitney Little takes the role of guest with her husband of one year, Henry Bell. At last, listeners will meet the man Whitney has made mention of throughout the season and hear their full story.
Whitney Little and Henry Bell married on May 27, 2018 on the rooftop of their New York City apartment. Both originally hailing from Texas, and both having resided in NYC for a number of years, Whitney and Henry finally met by way of introduction through a mutual friend during football season. The two Texas natives always seemed to have just missed one another in the years leading up to their eventual meeting, which worked out in the end as they met at just the right time in their lives, both in a good headspace and ready for love. Regardless of their loyalties to opposing Texas College football teams, feelings grew quickly and the two swiftly became an item. After dating for five years Whitney and Henry made a big decision together: they were ready to be husband and wife. While a courthouse wedding on the same day they made their decision together to wed would have done them just fine, each of their families were eager to be a part of their wedding celebration. The two waited for seven weeks until both their parents, immediate family members, and closest friends could convene to witness their union. Whitney and Henry put their own unique spin on every step of wedding planning, from the engagement—or lack thereof—to dress shopping, writing their own vows, and their first dance. On today’s episode, we explore what it takes to be ready for marriage and how to plan a sweet and intimate surprise wedding in just seven weeks. This is their story.

Hunter McGrady and Brian Keys married on June 16, 2019. You can spot Hunter McGrady, model and body positive activist, on the cover of the latest issue of The Knot Magazine, which hits newsstands July 29, 2019. Brian was introduced to Hunter through her Snapchat account—by another woman who he was on a first date with at the time! Brian didn't go on a second date with that particular lady, but, months later, he did boldly slide into Hunter’s DMs. Brian got a sense of Hunter's humor and personality through her engaging and fun Snapchat stories. Hunter got to know Brian through a long series of direct messages, eventually becoming Facebook friends before they met IRL while she was visiting New York City on a work assignment. The duo finally met up in person after months of digital correspondence. They experienced a strong initial connection, so much so that their first date ended up lasting three days. A few months of dating convinced Hunter to move to NYC so her and Brian could be together in the same place. A few years later, and now Hunter and Brian are happily married. They recently hosted a stunning wedding celebration in Southern California where they put their own spin on conventional traditions including Hunter's wedding fashion, which was custom made for her style and body, their vows, and Hunter's first dance with her father. Tune in to find out what they did to create a celebration that was uniquely their own, reflecting their personalities, style and personal values. On today’s episode, the newlyweds take us through their love story and wedding planning journey, and Hunter shares empowering advice for loving the body you're in. Abbie Frank & Tim Voelker

    Abbie Frank & Tim Voelker

Abbie Frank and Tim Voelker married on October 7, 2017 in Urbana, Illinois at Bluestem Hall. Both designers by trade, the pair first hit it off after connecting and talking online from across the country for nearly two months. They had many shared passions: In addition to their interests as designers, they both love classic cars, ‘90s Nickelodeon and woodworking. When the duo finally met in real life, right as Abbie moved to Brooklyn from Illinois to begin her graduate program, they went on their first date, shared their first kiss, and simply “could not stop smiling.” For three years they enjoyed living in New York City, exploring the metropolitan and growing as designers and as a couple. After graduating from Pratt, Abbie and Tim decided to move to Abbie’s midwestern hometown of Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. It was there they began a new passion project, transforming Abbie’s family farm on a protected habitat into a beloved wedding venue. Tim proposed to Abbie on the farm and they were the very first couple to wed at what is now Bluestem Hall. These two are the ultimate DIY-newlyweds. On today's episode, Abbie and Tim share their journey both as a couple and as business owners—the good, the bad and the (often) messy reality of transforming a historic barn into a work of art where couples can host their wedding celebrations. This is their story.

    Liz Howell

    Liz Howell

Liz and Steve Howell married on April 19, 2014 in Savannah, Georgia. Liz was working as a journalist in Columbus, Georgia when a friend from college introduced her to Steve, who was also living in Columbus, over Facebook. At the time, Steve was in training for the United States Army at Fort Benning. Steve was quick to reach out to Liz, inviting her to a barbecue. She was quick to say yes, which then led to Steve scrambling to throw together a barbecue he never really had planned. Despite the heavy rain that moved the party indoors, the downpour couldn’t wash out the spark between Liz and Steve. In their early days of dating, Steve was sent away to field trainings for weeks at a time, introducing Liz right away to some of the hardships of military life. His month-long trip to Army Ranger School was the true test of their love, as they could only communicate through hand written letters. The distance only made their connection grow stronger. One year later, when Steve was relocated to Savanah, Georgia, Liz transferred to a sister television station in Savannah and moved in with Steve. Although they were living together, they worked completely opposite schedules: Steve worked all day, while Liz took over the overnight shift at the station, leaving dinner time as their sacred couple-time together. It wasn't long before Steve asked Liz to marry him. Their wedding was a southern fairytale. As a married couple, Liz and Steve have lived all over the globe, from Italy to Germany, navigating military life together along with their two young daughters. This episode of XOXO by The Knot talks exclusively with Liz, as Steve is currently deployed in the Middle East. Liz opens up about the hardships and sacrifices that come with life and motherhood as a military spouse. This is their story.
