I tell the story of my childhood encounter with a strange "invisible wall" ghost while on holiday on Rottnest Island, Western Australia, in the mid 1990s. I then attempt to draw connections to the mythical Nurikabe entity from Japanese folklore, and the similar experience of a Japanese soldier during WW2.
