194 // Financial Basics & Feeling Empowered With Your Money with Gretel Chiswell & Serenette Crombie from Invest Blue The Real Her Project Podcast

    • Business

Today on the Podcast I am lucky enough to be chatting with not one but two Financial Planners from Invest Blue - Gretel Chiswell & Serenette Crombie.  I have recently started working on my own personal finances and was honoured to get the opportunity to pick both of these amazing women’s brains on the basics of money and taking control of your future as a women and business owner.

This a refreshing and fun conversation.  I think financial planners sometimes get the stigma that they are going to be judgemental when it comes to money but behind the job title are real people who have had their own experiences and just want to help their clients.

We cover a lot in this conversation from how taking control of your finances can make you feel, why money is still an awkward topic, how to start with financial basics, some great tips for savings, and some mistakes Gretel and Serenette have seen too.  We finish it off with business, paying yourself and super - we definitely made this episode value packed.

I know before this episode I felt a little embarrassed talking about my money journey but realising we are not a lot in our paths and that there are a tonne of resources and people out there to help you.  It’s just about taking action.

If this episode helps you with anything, it’s just knowing it’s never too early or late to take control of your finances and there is a lot of support out there for you, no matter what your circumstances are.

This episode is perfect for anyone who is wanting to take control of their finances, save a bit more and start their money journey.  It’s also great for anyone who is self employed and wanting to make the most of their money and future.

In today’s episode we discuss:
Why money still is an awkward topic to discuss
How taking control of your finances can make you feel
Some common money mistakes
How to start saving and some basic money hacks to start you on your money journey
The importance of putting yourself first as a business owner
And so much more!
