25. Frantz Kruger - Discus Throw Olympic Medalist and an elite throws coach USC Throws

    • Sport

Today with us we have a spectacular guest, Frantz Kruger! Olympic bronze Medalist from the Sydney Olympics, where he threw over 3 times 222’ in that competition, one of the highest distances to win a medal at a major championship of all time. He’s the South African and African record holder, 70.32m, and the record holder of Finland, 69.97m. These are certainly impressive facts, but what’s even more impressive is that Kruger has been throwing competitively with some of the greatest discus throwers for over 4 different decades now! From the early 90s, to now early 2020s, and still able to reach distances around 60m with 2kg discus. Elite thrower, and now an elite throws coach, coach Kruger shares with us tips on how to throw far without being extremely strong, and how to avoid injuries along the way.
