In dieser Folge führt uns unsere Weltreise in Frankfurt nach Peru, einem der beeindruckendsten Länder, die ich je besucht habe. Mein Gast ist Carlos Palacios, ein wahres Energiebündel voller Kreativität und Lebensfreude. Carlos lebt Musik: Er betreibt seit fast 30 Jahren das Hardcore Punk-Label Entes Anomicos und ist außerdem als Salsa-DJ in Rhein-Main aktiv – solo und mit den Frankfurt Allstars.

Wir sprechen über seinen Weg zum Hardcore Punk, über die „Wall of Death“, über die überraschenden Verbindungen zwischen Punk und Salsa und darüber, warum Carlos’ Lebensphilosophie lautet: ohne Erwartungen durchs Leben gehen.

26 – Peru in Frankfurt – Carlos Palacios on hardcore punk, salsa and living freely

Gude and Hola! Welcome to this episode of Global Village 069 – The world at home in Frankfurt.

This time, our world tour through Frankfurt takes us to one of the most beautiful countries I’ve ever visited: Peru. When I traveled there in 2018, the landscapes, the culture, the food, and especially the warmth and joy of the people completely enchanted me. I’m thrilled to have a guest for this episode who radiates exactly that joy and creativity: Carlos Palacios.

Carlos’s life is deeply shaped by music. His first love is hardcore punk. For almost 30 years he has run the label Entes Anomicos, collaborating mainly with artists across Latin America. He is also active in the Rhine-Main region as a salsa DJ, both solo and with the collective Frankfurt Allstars.

We talk about how he discovered hardcore punk, what a wall of death is, and why hardcore punk and salsa have more in common than you’d think. Carlos also shares how he maintains such a high artistic output and why living without expectations has become part of his philosophy. And of course, we explore where you can experience Peru in Frankfurt—whether on your plate or at one of Carlos’s salsa parties.
