47. Ronni Kahn AO, OzHarvest // Anyone can drive social and global change when they #ChooseToChallenge The Make It Happen Show

    • Entrepreneurship

The world's most regarded entrepreneurs and business owners saw a problem around them and wanted to fix it. What's stopping you? This year, for International Women's Day, the theme is #ChooseToChallenge - because we all have the power to take a stand, to challenge the status quo because from our challenge, comes change.

But you might be asking, how do I even get started? There's no one better to share how you can choose to challenge than Ronni Kahn AO. Ronni is an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) and was named Australian Local Hero of the Year in 2010. She is best known for founding OzHarvest, Australia's leading food rescue organisation and we have brought her in to share her story in this episode of The Make It Happen Show. Since its inception, OzHarvest has been working in Australia to halve food wastage by 2030, and through Ronni's vision and leadership in just the past year alone, they've diverted 9 million kilograms of surplus food to those in need.

Ronni has come far, from her journey growing up and experiencing apartheid in South Africa, to running an event management business earning sometimes $50,000 in a weekend, to now being one of Australia's leading social entrepreneurs. She is changing the face of food behaviour and habits in Australia, and across the globe. And in this episode, she talks all about her experiences, lessons, and advice to help you drive social and global change for the better, just as she did. Whether you're an entrepreneur looking to solve a problem through business, or someone who just wants to make their community a better place, this episode is for all of us who are ready to choose to challenge. #IWD2021
