Domestic Violence towards women, children and men is plaguing the planet.
Estimates published by WHO indicate that globally around 1 - 3 of women worldwide have been subjected to either physical and/or sexual violence in their lifetime.
According to the World Health Organisation violence against women in particular is not just a violation against human rights it is now considered a major public health problem.
In this episode Lisa Lockland-Bell sits down with Kate Crowley Smith - Founding Director of Broken to Brilliant, a Charity whose mission is domestic violence survivors mentoring fellow survivors who are creating a new chapter in their lives.
Broken to Brilliant help victims who have safely left the abusive relationship and are out of the crisis. Their programs and services empower, provide hope & practical tools to guide survivors in their journey to create a new chapter in their lives.
Kate is a mother of two and a domestic violence survivor, with a professional background in Nursing and Health Promotion. Her work portfolios are patient safety and quality and injury prevention, with a recently completed a postgraduate certificate in domestic and family violence. 
Kate and Lisa talk survival, endurance, tenacity and THE PRACTICE of what it takes to move on in life after surviving the trauma of domestic violence.
Kate believes in lifelong learning and is driven to address unmet needs in our community & change lives.
