7 - Intuitive Gut Health - Shaana Levy-Bahl - Holistic Healing Cooking Consultant The Hadassah Collective With Claire Marrinan

    • Buddhism

This week on The Hadassah Collective Podcast, I speak with Shaana Levy-Bahl.

Disclaimer: This is a pretty shitty conversation! ?

Shaana is a film maker who believes in the power of story telling; she shares inspirational stories of women who have overcome incredible odds, and most recently realised ‘Ladies First’, A Netflix Original Documentary Short about the Indian archer Deepika Kumari.

Shaana is also a passionate foodie and holistic cook and has healed herself from an autoimmune disease through informed (yet delicious!) diet and lifestyle moderations.

Shaana was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, an autoimmune disease, when she was 19years old whilst attending Columbia University. She was told there was no cure for this illness and she accepted that this was going to be her new status quo. In 2005, after being hospitalised, her desperation led her to finally take control of her disease. She decided to heal herself holistically by tackling the source of her illness from both a physical and emotional perspective.

Even though her Swiss allopathic doctors told her that diet wouldn’t help her, Shaana has successfully weaned herself off of all allopathic medication and through food and lifestyle choices lives a healthy life free from the shackles of her “incurable” illness.

Shaana has taught herself to create delicious Paleo meals and desserts and refuses to feel her life is restricted in any way, rather it is now enriched with knowledge and wellness.

She beautifully shares her holistic approach to wellness to support those who suffer like she has or anyone would simply like to support their personal gut health without sacrificing creative food.

Shaana continues to inspire through film and food ... You can find her recipes, new film releases and announcements about her exciting new blog on her Instagram @shaanadiya.

I hope you enjoy this episode and come away inspired with practices to help you consciously customise, evolve and support your life.

Much Love
