In the last edition of Ballot Chat we discussed several topics about the life of Postgrad students at Cardiff Uni and what Tilly plans to do to improve that. We specifically focused in on topics like decolonising education, mental health, COVID 19 and combatting racism. Enjoy!

Today we sat down with Georgie East to discuss mental health, specifically in the context of COVID 19. Additionally, we talked about the systemic reforms she intends to bring to Cardiff University including reforms that will help decolonise the educational system and deal with instances of racism.

We sat down with Amogh George today to discuss the main issues that are facing ethnic minority students in Cardiff and what actions he will take to ensure they don't continue popping up. Some of these issues included the silence of the SU in the face of police brutality in Cardiff and elsewhere that sparked the BLM movement and frequent racism that ACS students encounter in their daily lives.

In this episode we brought on David Waboso. An experienced civil engineer who has participated in many major projects around the world including countries like Nigeria and has also worked on projects such as renovations of the London Underground Railway. He is also a winner of the Black British Business Awards 2014 'leader of the year' award in the Manufacturing and Infrastructure section of the event. Together, we addressed issues such as employment, education and connection with the motherland as they relate to the Black Community here in the UK.  We hope you enjoy!

In collaboration with the Cardiff University Students Union and Kelechi Okafor, ACS brings you yet another episode in our Black History Month series. Today we discussed the ideas surrounding blackness and the extent to which we can decolonise our surroundings. We delved deeper into subjects about institutional racism and the Black Narrative in Historical circles in the UK. We hope you enjoy!

A warm welcome from the ACS committee this year and we are excited to present to you our first podcast! We talked extensively about the meaning of Black History Month, its origins and the considerable amount of effort that has been put into trying to suppress the Black narrative in History.
