"Agnes Grey" is English author Anne Bronte's story about a governess. It is similar to her sister's work Jane Eyre in that both novels explore the social issues that a Victorian governess not only observes but with which she becomes involved. Agnes Grey, published in 1847, was Anne’s first novel.
