Another Kind of Mind: A Different Kind of Beatles Podcast

Intelligent, articulate and thoughtful. I’ve really enjoyed getting a new perspective on the Beatles story - it’s about time it was viewed with fresh eyes. Their research is meticulous and their analysis is sensitive, insightful and entertaining. Obviously some find this podcast confronting because it challenges a well established narrative but if you have an open mind, you might learn something new.

Have listened to 3 episodes in a row and can’t stop listening. A serious podcast but also with a lot of laugh out loud moments as Phoebe really helps the the listener imagine the time and place of many iconic and some not so well known moments and pulls no punches in getting to the heart of their relationship. An absolute pleasure to listen to!

Unfortunately the podcasts are cut from a rigid template. It is ironic that they/them make it a virtue to redress Beatles author bias but they/them are perhaps more guilty of it themselves. It’s loaded. For some reason they see this space as a battleground and this leads to an abrasive sourness. Their language and tone is divisive, patronising and painful in pitch/tonality and timbre. And just like the internet anyone can find many points to back up an opinion but the real skill is to present it in an entertaining and balanced way( see Nothing is real or SATB) As a Beatles fan who loves all the band it’s a turnoff.

Where is Ep. 2 which I assume is the first one in the story after your introductory Ep. A chunk missing from the story!
