Ep. 33 / My Thoughts On Inventing Anna

Ep. 33 / My Thoughts On Inventing Anna

In today's episode I offer my opinions on the new Netflix mini series "Inventing Anna". In the first ever episode of Approached, I covered the case of Anna Delvey who portrayed herself as a German Heiress effectively swindling banks and tycoons alike out of over 200,000. Now, just under a year later, the mini series has made it's way to Netflix. And I have thoughts.
Find out what they are on this weeks episode of approached.

I laugh, I cry

I’ve watched Sam on YT for years and have just recently gotten into listening to Podcasts during my drive to and from work. Approachable is my absolute favourite, I love every episode and feel as though i’m having a conversation with good friends full of belly laughs and often a few teary moments. The topics are wonderful and I find myself learning so much about new topics as well as being presented with new views/ideas on current and important topics. Love love love!

Overdone cases

Loved approachable so I was excited to listen to this one. However so far all these cases have been so over done on other podcasts, I have no interest in listening to them for the 100th time. I’d love some cases that aren’t so well known, or unsolved cases that don’t get enough attention and need the awareness.

Approached might be best for visual

I admire Alyssa for going out and continuing the pod solo, and the first ep was interesting just told in a way that didn’t give the story justice, or keep me actually interested. Maybe Alyssa’s style of storytelling is best done as a visual medium, with pictures and cues and indicators to keep audiences engaged. Or maybe the series needs a thorough re-formatting, at the very least some tighter editing and or scripting rather than a half hour rambling recount of “interesting” crimes because of an interest in criminal psychology.
