📸 Working in the gig economy with Michelle Grace Hunder

It’s estimated that over 250,000 Australians are part of the gig economy, which includes side hustlers with 9 to 5’s and those working full time in the gig economy. So chances are many of our listeners have tried their hand at a side hustle or freelance work arrangements at some point.
Although gig economy work can provide greater flexibility and choices in your day to day work, it can be very unpredictable and uncertain, on both your time and money, which can lead to financial stress.
In today’s episode of The Australian Finance Podcast, we’re going to be taking a deep dive into the gig economy, which covers everything from ride sharing services like Uber to providing specific services for a fee, like taking on Airtasker jobs to assemble Ikea bookshelves or helping a small baking business with their social media.
Our guest today is, Michelle Grace Hunder, who is a live music photographer based in Melbourne, tours with Ruel, has her own photography courses, has published a book and has made a film, “her sound, her story”.

🚩 10 ASX company red flags (and what they mean)

As an investor, a red flag is a warning sign to you that there’s something going on with the company that warrants further investigation. We don’t usually get to see the inner workings of the company, so have to make educated decisions based on the external information available to us.

In this episode, Kate & Owen put forward 10 different red flags that may stand out to you as investors, and some notable ASX case studies. Our red flag might be your green light, so in today’s episode we’re going to explore some of the things that would make us stop and pause as investors.

You might still decide to invest in a company after looking into one of these red flags we highlight today, but you’ll be a lot more informed when you do, and you might even start to see some patterns emerge across different companies.

If the host pronounces “ask” as “aaarkks”, I wouldn’t take any kind of advice from him, let alone financial advice. Just doesn’t cut the mustard.
