Ep 259: The Book of Enoch

Ep 259: The Book of Enoch

David welcomes back Jason Foux from Dragons in Genesis to discuss the Book of Enoch! A strange but much-referenced book in the Christian bible's apocrypha, the Book of Enoch has been the basis for countless claims of an esoteric nature. Commonly pointed to when discussing ancient aliens, it has also inspired religions and mythologies for centuries. Jason joins Flora for an overview of the book as well as the connections to weird stuff it has spawned. After a 7-part series on Enoch, Jason draws parallels and theories together with the ease of an angel betraying a god. Listen as the boys discuss the Watchers, Nephilim, chariots ascending to heaven, and more. Bask in the glory of religious mythology on Blurry Photos, then go check out Jason's show for yourself!

    BP Bonus: The Undeparted Roundtable

    BP Bonus: The Undeparted Roundtable

The boys are back at the roundtable to discuss the short film The Undeparted! Labeled "an award-winning documentary film about spirits, attachments, and people," The Undeparted is short, sweet, and spooky. Derek Hayes from Monsters Among Us and Justin Zenger of Zeng This! join Flora to review this fun little film. Focusing on an antique shop in Sand Hill, Marriottsville, MD, director Chris McGuinness learns there's more out there to used furniture than good designs and a few scruff marks. The realization leads him to discover paranormal attributes and attachments unique to the little corner shop and its owners. The film documents his and the owners' experiences in trying to learn more about the spirits who have, as yet, not departed this world. The boys discuss their likes/dislikes of the film and wax philosophical on paranormal activity, mediums, and many more topics inspired by Chris' film. Watch it yourself and see what you think! And check out another roundtable while you're at it.

Ep 258: Nathan Isaac, The Penny Royal Podcast

Ep 258: Nathan Isaac, The Penny Royal Podcast

Flora is joined by Nathan Isaac, host and writer of the Penny Royal Podcast for a fascinating discussion of oddities in Pulaski Co., Kentucky. Somerset, KY resident Nathan Isaac has been researching strange phenomena in and around Pulaski Co. on the Penny Royal Podcast for years. While some places might have some weird stories, Somerset might just take the cake. Murders, conspiracy, larger than life people, geological anomalies, Fortean phenomena, and odd coincidences abound. The epicenter of the Kentucky Anomaly, Pulaski Co. has strange features to begin with, but do they cause weird behavior or are they simply another weird coincidence? Nathan's findings were interesting, but after the Hellier crew rolled through, the findings got interesting-er. David and Nathan discuss several of the stories from the podcast, including quartz, mobsters, Pan, and so much more. Have a listen to these stories on Blurry Photos, then go check out Nathan's show for yourself!

Outstanding in every respect - The best of its kind!

If you're entertained and intrigued by stories of the paranormal, cryptozoology, legends, urban myths and other "fringe" subjects, then this is easily the BEST podcast that you'll ever find! The show consistently achieves that rare perfect blend of being both educational and informative, as well as being terrifically entertaining! Each episode makes for a good, long listen and is exceptionally well- produced and edited. Earlier episodes, in which Dave Stecco and David Flora co-hosted, had a comedic tone that was genuinely laugh-out-loud funny... it's seems incredible to me that these guys weren't picked up for their own TV show or something, they really are that good! Since January 2018 David Flora has hosted the show alone, shifting the tone to a more serious and documentary-style approach. Although like many fans I miss the terrific banter between the two Dave's, Flora's new approach has really taken the show to new heights, and in many ways I like the new documentary-style episodes even more than the comedic ones - with their intelligent mix of scepticism and credible research, they offer a master class in how these kinds of paranormal topics should be presented. It's an absolute pleasure to listen to a podcast that is so clearly the best of its kind - thanks guys!
