    Is using automations to sell icky? Or unethical?

    Two-way podcast chats is back for another episode - Listen to the episode before jumping in, and then let’s talk more about it - Links at the bottom of this post.

    I’m beginning to dip my toes in the topics that have been ruffling my feathers for a few years now, as I believe these topics are unnecessarily pushing more people into very manual, and unsustainable business operations that limit profit, limit impact, and are causing so much burnout. Which as you know, is the opposite of what I’m about.

    The growing trend of automations and selling strategies being ‘ick’, or unethical needs to stop, and instead be celebrated. Because it’s creating fear in people that stops them using the tools that allow them to help more people, while looking after themselves.

    I have a lot more to share on ethical marketing subjects, it’s something that’s been boiling within me for years now and I’ve never been in the position to speak up about it.

    Before rebranding Chromatical, my brand was different and I found myself in more of a people pleasing position rather than being able to talk freely about my beliefs. I wanted to keep everyone happy instead of speaking my truth, so I buttoned up on subjects that were important to me.

    But not anymore.

    Because if I don’t voice up and become an advocate for this, more people will go down the path of burning out and losing their businesses, and if you know my story, you’ll know why I’m not cool with that. So I’m here to play a role in changing this fear based narrative being pushed.

    Seeing so many businesses doing everything themselves out of fear of being ‘unethical’, not doing the things they need to in fear of being ‘unethical’, not making enough profit to take time off, because they don’t have the time to do everything they need because they are refusing to use the tools that take the manual tasks off them. It’s awful to watch.

    The belief that selling, automations, marketing, and everything that helps to lead to making a sale in easier ways is ick… is what is icky! And the fact that it’s becoming so believed by so many who then continue to spread the message, makes others feel that way and it needs to stop.

    I am very passionate about the topic of ethical marketing. I believe we've been influenced heavily by a misguided trend that has placed strategy, marketing & automations in a light that is not true.

    There are invaluable tools designed to help us and help our clients, that should be leant into and promoted more, so that more business owners can help create more impact in the world without breaking themselves in the process.

    Every single business uses funnels. Even yours. Even if you don't realise you do.

    So if you're avoiding/intimidated by funnels? This episode will change how you see them and show you exactly how easy they can be because you're already doing them.

    Whenever you hear me or others talk about funnels, if you're that person who goes and hides, knowing it's something you want to explore one day, but you have all these blocks and keep pushing it to the side... Then this episode should alleviate a lot of the fear of the unknown you might have, and a lot of the stories you've told yourself (or heard from others) about them so you can move forward with them and actually lean into something fantastic that can help your business grow!

    Because if you're already using funnels (which you are - and I'll give you examples of funnels you're likely using in this episode), then what's adding another level/step/element to something that's already working for you to make it work better for you?

    It's so much easier to add onto something you already have than it is to start from scratch... so knowing that when it comes to funnels you AREN'T starting from scratch, you're just building on something you already do... it's so much easier.

    'Funnels' isn't a dirty word, it's just a part of business. And every business uses them. Even your supermarket! So have a listen and get inspired to start adding little bits at a time to your funnels to make them even better.

    Can the wrong business ideas, actually be the right ones?

    Can the wrong business ideas, actually be the right ones?

    I'm not sure if you know this or not, but prior to pivoting down the path Chromatical is on now, I had pivoted in a VERY different direction. Still at my ability energy wise, but a different niche, audience, and offer.

    I had built EVERYTHING.

    I'd invested so much time and money in creating it.

    But I canned it ALL.

    I want to show you why it can be good to leave things in the past and move on instead of sticking to something even if you've put lots of time, money or energy into something.

    See, the purpose of starting that thing, doing that thing for a short while, or doing that thing for years, may not have been for you to do it for ever.

    It may have just had to happen to serve a purpose - not to be the forever thing.

    A purpose that was there to allow you to grow or explore what was needed to open the doors to the next path.

    To be the steppingstone needed to bridge the gap between where you are to where you are going. Which you might not know what it is until you do the thing prior to it.

    You aren’t ever at the final destination.

    Strategy Sauce - what I built before Unlimited - was smart, but turned out to be just a small stepping stone I needed to walk across in order to find the next stop.

    It got me closer to where I wanted to go.

    So remember that you aren't a hero from sticking to what you're doing. You're actually probably failing more so sticking to things you've done simply because you've done them for any period of time.

    If there's one episode I hope you'll listen to it's this. Because I don't want you to make the same mistake I did. 

    In this episode, I share a lot of my story, about how I got where I am today, and what HUGE mistake almost broke my business.

This is for everyone

Omg listening to this podcast has made a huge change in the way that I am thinking about my business. It has given me the permission just to do business the way I want to but to also realise that it doesn't have to be perfect. So today instead of writing and rewriting an email to send out - I just wrote it, I made it simple, I didn't fiddle around editing my photos to perfection and..... I'm going to send it out tomorrow - just like that. No more overthinking
