    Aja Barber

    Aja Barber

Aja Barber has pledged to never take a dollar from fast fashion, and in her 2021 book 'Consumed' she explains why.

She is passionate about racial justice and exposing endemic injustices in our consumer and fashion industries. Aja is also no stranger to campaigning for change. Her Instagram video 'Why Performative Allyship is Triggering', which called out brands and influencers for monetising the Black Lives Matter movement, has accumulated over one million views. The video also put a spotlight on the disparity between fast fashion brand billionaires and their unpaid factory workers during the Covid-19 economic downturn.

Wonderful virtual book club

Fantastic content, loving the virtual book club in a time of great need! Some constructive feedback however to improve the listener’s experience: the audio levels are very inconsistent, making it uncomfortable to listen to. I hope this can be addressed for future episodes!

Inspiring and interesting podcast

This is one of my new favourite podcasts, which has inspired me to read more broadly and more often. Jam and Astrid are thoughtful presenters who weave their own experiences and perspectives into their literature reviews and recommendations and the interviews in this podcast are beautiful deep dives into a wide variety of societal issues.
