Christie-esque thriller

Crimes Against Christmas is an outstanding comedic audio drama.

The story centres upon a trip to a remote island . We join Art investigator Peter Artridge & several other guests. A bizarre mix of audacious , pompous and anarchic cohorts who attempt to circumnavigate the events that befall them.

Artridge initially tasked with discovering a highly valued art piece; The Fabergé Bauble finds he has to quickly redirect his talents into a different suspense filled investigation.

This is a wonderful mystery waiting to be unravelled day by day with the advent calendar style countdown to Christmas. A truly wonderful gift from New old friends that can still be listened to the rest of the year.

This is a high calibre production with a brilliantly crafted script and a captivating storyline. The talented performers bring each character & their complex set of foibles & métier vividly to life

I particularly appreciated the efforts to deliver this tale so theatrically and with a ‘recap ‘ ; the summary of the previous episode.

The script is that of clever creatives with an exceptional grasp of the English language . The story is expressed with such beautiful elegance , with the exception of one demise involving a cow. Heather & Ferg are clearly an awesome duo - how wonderful for us these two found each other to propel their talents to another level.

I believe you will like this show !

This show manifested into a podcast only due to the Covid catastrophe reinforcing my faith in ‘Something good always comes from something bad.’ This podcast is indeed one of the good things to come out of 2020.

If it wasn’t for Covid , New Old Friends’ may not have had the time to explore alternate platforms to deliver their entertainment.

I applaud the talents of Heather Westwell & Feargus Woods-Dunlop and sincerely thank them for this Advent Christmas gift.

Do support this talented team. Fuel their motivation to produce more stories for this platform- so those outside of the UK can continue to be entertained by New Old Friends

Rating = 10/10 - Superb !!
