    The Santa Rosa Hitchhiker Murders

    The Santa Rosa Hitchhiker Murders

In California, in the 1970s, a large number of women and girls were murdered while hitchhiking. The authorities struggled to solve the murders or even determine whether or not they were a series of murders committed by one or more serial killers. California experienced a large number of serial killers who operated in the 1970s in the same area which made the job for authorities even more difficult.
Join Mike and Morf as they discuss the Santa Rosa hitchhiker murders. Hitchhiking was popular back the 1970s and as we look back 40 years later we know how dangerous it is. Many people have lost their lives after accepting a ride from a stranger. This series of murders in Santa Rosa highlights that fact. But, so many questions remain. Were these murders all connected and, if so, were they committed by one or more perpetrators?

    Introducing: Killer Psyche

    Introducing: Killer Psyche

What causes people to become killers? KILLER PSYCHE is a true crime podcast from Wondery that covers high-profile cases that shocked the world. Host Candice Delong uses her experience as a clinical psychiatric nurse and FBI Criminal Profiler to dissect the motivations and behaviors of the most terrifying criminals in history.
In a recent episode, Candice explores the case of Pedro Rodrigues Filho, also known as The Brazilian Dexter. Rodrigues went on to murder, by his count, more than 100 people -- most of them while he was behind bars. To many, he was a hero -- a vigilante seeking justice for victims. But to others, he was just a cold-blooded murderer.
This is just a preview of Killer Psyche, but you can listen to the full episode at http://wondery.fm/KP_Criminology

    Latricia White and The Wackerhagens

    Latricia White and The Wackerhagens

Just after Christmas in 1993, Latricia White was found murdered and her boyfriend Dub Wackerhagen and his son Chance went missing. Join Mike and Morf as they discuss the murder of Latricia White and the disappearance of Dub and Chance Wackerhagen. The police initially theorized that Dub killed Latricia and then abducted his son Chance to keep him away from his mother. They went as far as to put out an arrest warrant for Dub. But, over the years, the police changed their minds and started to believe that Dub and Chance were more likely victims. There are still a lot of unanswered questions in this case.

    Kim Bryant

    Kim Bryant

In 1979, 16-year-old Kim Bryant was abducted and murdered on her way home from school in Las Vegas, Nevada. She called her boyfriend to come to pick her up, but when he arrived Kim was gone. Several factors delayed the search for Kim. Someone found her backpack but didn't know she was missing. Her boyfriend didn't come forward for days. The police believed she was a runaway. They also had a lot on their plate as Las Vegas was experiencing a high number of unsolved murders.
Join Mike and Morf as they discuss the abduction and murder of Kim Bryant. The police had very few clues in Kim's case even after it was discovered that her backpack had been found. There were some eyewitnesses who saw some men in a vehicle talking to Kim. Years later, killer Ronnie Lee Fain became a suspect after he murdered Bobby Gene Thomas, who he said confessed to him that he murdered Kim. Recently, DNA from Kim's case was tied to a man named Johnny Blake Peterson.

Binge worthy

Only started listening a month ago and just finished the whole back catalogue. Love the mix of cases. As an Aussie, I do get great amusement listening to the pronunciation when you cover local cases. Respectful, insightful and detailed. Great true crime listening.

What happened

This show used to be good when it first came out.
Now they just dribble on endlessly.
The cases covered lately could easily be done in under 30 minutes but these 2 just draw it out.
I guess at the end of the day they just run out of content.
