300 episodes

Radio Free Skaro is possibly the most popular, most prolific and charmingly irreverent (but never irrelevant) Doctor Who podcast around. Since August 2006, hosts Warren (in Vancouver, BC) and Steven (in Edmonton, AB) have provided listeners with their brand of amusing Doctor Who praise and punishment. A year later, Chris (also in Edmonton, AB) was added to the team, and The Three Who Rule were born.

Recommended by Doctor Who Magazine, Radio Free Skaro provides an entertaining and diverting listen for the diehard or casual Doctor Who fan. New episodes usually appear on Sundays, following a loose magazine format of the three hosts discussing the news and events of the past week in the worlds of Doctor Who, Torchwood, and the Sarah Jane Adventures. They have also recorded special commentary podcasts for classic series and new series episodes of Doctor Who along with interviews of some of the brightest of the Doctor Who luminaries. Radio Free Skaro is also the official podcast of Gallifrey One, the world’s largest and longest-running annual Doctor Who convention.

Great show

The team know their stuff and are just great to listen to. Like hanging out with friends with interesting and often different views. One of the two best Dr Who podcasts (the other is Verity).

Boys that know their stuff.

They've been doing it forever but always fresh. Best thing to come out of Canada since Degrassi.

No doubt aboot it-THE Greatest DW podcast!

Doctor Who: Radio Free Skaro is streets away the best DW podcast on the net. Hosted by 3 Canadians, Warren Frey, Steven Schapansky and Chris Burgess, they have an easy & likable cameraderie, with often humourous & thoughtful reviews of the current run of episodes, as well as deliving into the huge backlot of the classic series when NuWho is off air. All of them have an excellent sense of what makes entertaining commentary, and along with tight editing & good quality sound, there are none of the awkward pauses & audio dropouts that give a slightly amateurish air to some of the other DW podcasts I am subscribed to. None of the "Dave are you there? Oops we lost him!" moments that plague many of the more open/call-in type podcasts, & the small articulate, witty cast mean it doesn't descend drift into a meandering group nitkick that can take a lot of joy out of the fandom. The 3 of them can happily disagree with each other without being obnoxious about it. If only there were more folks like the cool Canucks in DW podcasting. All of fandom would benefit. Recommended listening.
